The lens' ability has no bearing on this contest. It is for beauty only. Shocked

'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. Through my eyes it has to be a SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4 (any version). Very Happy

I like those with the Au barrel, such as
Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/58

You will get as many different replies as posters in this topic Cool

My 0.02

Zeiss Planar T* 50/1.4 (modern SLR version). The Voigtländer SL II 58/1.4 is almost identical looks, but the chrome ring on the front of the lens brings the trophy home for Zeiss.

We MUST consider the Zeiss/Voigtlander Ultron for the Voigtlander and Rollieflex 35mm SLRs. Concave front element and truly classic and classy look.

Not because I've one, but I really like the design of the Helios 44M.

I don't know that any of them are that good looking. I do understand the gadget thing that causes many of us to value the object as much as, or more than what it produces as a matter of purpose, but I honestly don't care what it looks like. This is one of my favorite five - not much to look at:

I can remember when I thought it was cool to have the biggest (longest) lens possible. I've definitely gotten over that. Now I travel with as few as possible - sometimes only one. I'll be in NYC next week and likely to only have my 35-105 with me. Have I gone off topic?
