Just thought I'd start a thread about where to buy darkroom equipment.

One place that seems popular is http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk/index.asp

Please add your own recommended sites/shops.

http://www.lumiere-shop.de/

Quite cheap film, paper and chemicals. Stock Agfa's rodinal too. Surprised

And if you order for 99€, shipment is free in europe. Meaning 60 films (Fomapan) is 1.7€/apc including taxes and shipment.

www.fomafoto.com, run by a Czech in Norway. Very good prices, especially bulk 35mm film. He only sell FOMA's products though, although the price for FOMA's equivalent of say XTOL and D76/ID-11 can't be beaten (and all the powdered chemicals sell in packets that make 1l of solution so no oxidizing of that metal can that's for 5l of solution), the same goes for photo papers (haven't yet progressed to that stage of photography myself).

The only drawback is that the Norwegian postal service is rather expensive, so shipping costs rack up rather quickly.

They certainly do.
One pack of Foma 4x5 is €4 shipping, add eight roll films to that and suddenly it's €29 shipping. He probably sends single items by post, but larger orders by other means. Makes it worthwhile putting in a succession of small orders, which isn't how it's supposed to work.

I can recommend Freestyle Photographic Supplies out of Hollywood, CA, USA.
http://freestylephoto.biz/

They ship very quickly, and have no problem with international orders. One nice thing about Freestyle is that they have a huge selection, and usually stock several "grades" of each item so if you want to mix and match to suit your budget & needs. Having this from a single vendor makes it very convenient to pick up all of those random odds and ends all at once to save on shipping. Cool
