Don't. The amount of stuff means nothing. Only the vision means something, and from what I could see, you have a strong one.
There was a time when I only had one lens - a crappy Sigma manual zoom whose faster stop was f/4.5. This didn't stop me from developing my own vision and if I have any today that is even barely good, I developed it on that lens.

Everything else, the extra stuff, is just - accessory.

Yes, and I hope he comes back soon.

Gear is fun, but no one should let gear prevent him from developing one's own vision.
On the contrary, one should always aim at higher goals - never stop.
More lenses should never mean be content - it should always mean newer challenges.

At least this is how I interpret it and I can say that in the last year, I did not only accumulate stuff, but also tried to push my limits forward. I tried to make photographs I never made before, and in most occasions, I managed them, actually pushing my limits forward. I am not speaking much of technical boundaries, mostly of eye limits and vision limits. I tried to develop my vision. To make it stronger. More meaningful. To get rid of redundant decorations. To become more essential. To defy the instant.
Doing all this, with new and more lenses, was much fun. But not essential. I would have done it anyways because that's where I want to go.

As far as I understand this thread is was not meant to show off or to make others feel embarrassed, it was rather intended to show with what gear we have experiences so that anybody knows whom to ask...

LaFanch, your collection is great and very reasonable: one good lens in almost any focal length in M42 and some nice Tamrons. Having two or more lenses with the same focal length is just funny nonsense, just the urge to "compare" and the feeling of freedom of choice (which often is rather a pain...) Wink

Orio, why don't you go ahead and build a new house out of those lenses? I'm sure you'd probably have some left over. Laughing
