Hello all,

I've been lurking for a few months and this looks like a good place to surface. I bougth my first camera in ca 1981 - a black ME Super with two horrible Vivitar zooms (28-50 and 80-200). The Super is now over the hill as it suffers from ASA confusion, film wind failure and would be showing a lot of brass, if the top wasn't made of plastic Confused

Nowdays I shoot with a Samsung GX-1S (a pentax clone) and have been accumulating old Pentax glass and film bodies. Not that I shoot film anymore, but there is something about those old bodies that makes them nice too handle and look at.

Bodies:
Pentax S1
Pentax S3
Pentax Sv
Pentax Spotmatic SP
Pentax Spotmatic SP F
Pentax Spotmatic SP1000
Pentax Spotmatic SP500
Pentax ES
Pentax ES II
Pentax K1000
Pentax ME-F
Pentax ME-Super
Pentax MG
Pentax MV
Pentax Mv1
Pentax MX
Pentax SF7
Pentax SFXn
Pentax Super A
Samsung GX-1S

Around half of the bodies are (or were) black.

Lenses:
Exakta 24mm 1:2.8 MC Macro
MC Zenitar-K2.8/16 (mm)
Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 2.8/50

Takumar 1:3.5/135 (chrome/black)
Auto-Takumar 1:2.2/55
Pentax S-M-C Takumar 1:2.5/135mm (v2)
Pentax S-M-C Takumar 35/3.5
Pentax S-M-C Takumar 55/1.8
Pentax SMC Takumar 55/2
S-M-C Macro Takumar 50/4
Schneider-Kreuznach D-Xenon 1:3.5-5.6 18-55mm AL
Schneider-Kreuznach D-Xenon 1:4-5.6 50-200mm ED
SMC Pentax-A 28mm 2.8
SMC Pentax-A 50mm 1.4
SMC Pentax-A zoom 1:3.5 35-105mm
SMC Pentax-F zoom 1:3.5-4.5 35-70mm
SMC Pentax-M 1:2 50mm
SMC Pentax-M 1:2 50mm (later version with "A" guts)
SMC Pentax-M 40mm 2.8
SMC Pentax-M 85mm 1:2
SMC Pentax-M Macro 100mm/4

And then there are some flashes, winders, extension tubes and shades.

Many of the lenses are loved and praised, but the ones that have surprised me are the cheap 50-200 (AF - sorry...), the S-M-C 55/1.8 and the 35-105/3.5 Sadly, I lack the vocabulary to express what I like about them but there is something about their rendering that cathces my eye.

Best wishes,
- Bjorn

Welcome ADzivo! Nice list! Smile

BTW, I have been thinking about trying to get a cheap D30 for a while. These cam can use all those old Sigma AF lenses that don't work in a new EOS any more...

NICE outfit, and you have a great variety of focal lengths. Also, the 50/1.4 on those few occasions when high-speed lens is needed.
I know it's hard to avoid G.A.S. but you sure do have all one would need. Very Happy

My gear is actually listed, with links to my reviews, etc., at
http://aggregate.org/DIT/MYLENSES/ -- but since folks seem to
want a list here, this is a (shortened and simplified) copy.
I'm not listing duplicates, different mounts, etc., here.
Nearly everything manual focus is M42, Minolta SR/MC/MD, or
Canon FL/FD/FDn mount; AF lenses are Sony A or E mount.
None of these are for sale -- at least not yet -- because even
the duplicates are very useful in my research.

I do have a Contax 159MM and a bunch of odds and ends on the way in one package, and hopefully an RX that will work longer than three months for me coming in another. Speaking of the RX, I think it needs an eye-cup, anyone know where I might find one?

There was a time when there was more, but it is depressing to think of it all, and the adventures they are all having without me. Crying or Very sad

Used to own both an M2 and M3, plus a few lenses at one time or another. They were sacrificed a year ago to cover my expenses while I am in school for the time being.

However, one of the first purchases I intend to make when I am back to work is a fully working, hopefully decent looking M4-2, and then getting a 35mm Biogon to throw onto it.

I did briefly own a Leotax F, which would be a IIIC copy, I did like it, but it was a little more methodical in use then either the M3 or M2.

I am pretty sure that you need to trim the film to load into older Leica I to IIIG series cameras, including the FED's and Zorki's, but I have heard of others saying they didn't bother. I tried not trimming once, and ended up having the film tear apart in the body, requiring a lot of work getting the torn bits out of it.

I am not sure if there are others who find themselves drifting occasionally away from certain forums, only to return in the future.

I made both of the above posts several years ago, and looking back at them now I realize that I no longer own a single thing that I mentioned then, and that I actually did obtain both the camera and lens I had intended to get. The Contax and Retina gear was sold off a long time ago, and the Maxxum 9 I parted with earlier this year.

I did get a Leica M4-2 that I had always wanted, in fact I just sent it off to be CLA'd for the first time in its history, and I expect that to come back to me any day now. I did get a Zeiss 35 f2 Biogon, which is every bit as good as it is said to be, but I did end up selling that one too. I was lucky enough to make enough from the sale of my Minolta gear, that I was able to get a 90 Summicron for my M4-2, and with a decent tax return this year, I was also able to get a pre-aspherical 35 Summilux as well. I planned on sticking with those two lenses, but a deal came along on a ZM Planar which leaves me with a 35-50-90 set.

I also received a bit of an inheritance from a passing family member, which allowed me to add a few other choice items to my list, which currently is:

Leica M4-2 (wanted it because it is made in Canada)
35 1.4 Summilux (also made in Canada)
50 2.0 Carl Zeiss ZM Planar (the odd one out)
90 2.0 Summicron (yes, it too was made in Canada)

Sony NEX-7
24 1.8 Carl Zeiss E-Sonnar
50 1.8 Sony OSS
18-55 3.5-5.6 Sony OSS
and a Metabones adapter for my M-mount lenses

Since I no longer own the 139Q pictured in my avatar, I guess I will need to come up with something else!

I know Leica opened a plant in Midland Ontario in the 1950's that produced both camera bodies and lenses for civilian and military uses, and also various other optics for military purposes. They sold the plant to Hughes Aircraft in 1990, who then sold the company, in 1997, to Raytheon. They still manufacture optical equipment, in particular the ELCAN C79 Optical Sight that is used by many militaries around the world, including the Canadian Forces, and the Norwegian Hærens Jegerkommando.

As for an answer to your question, a quick search on Google pointed me to poLight: http://www.polight.com/smallest-fast-autofocus-camera-module-html-13.html, and also to Norsk Elektro Optikk AS: http://www.neo.no/company/. I would think that any nation with a respectable scientific research industry would also include optics as a field of study, if not manufacture. The field is just too important for each nation to not have its own capabilities.

While it can be fun to look back to see the changes, it can also be depressing to think that after all this time, I still can't seem to just pick one thing and stick with it!

This is my first post in this forum so it's a nice opportunity to introduce myself and my equipment.
I'm an amateur photographer from Greece.
I bought my first camera back on 2008. It was a Canon 30D.
After a while I bought a Mamiya 1000DTL Mamiya/Sekor 50mm f/1.4.
I was so impressed from results on 30D so I started collecting Mamiya's TL/DTL Series.
Now I own almost every lens Mamiya made for this spesific series.

Here is a list of my eequipment.
Grey letters mean that I don't own them any more.

Canon EOS 30D
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1
Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 40D
