I now have two lenses that are without front caps (Mir 3 and Tair 33 for Kiev 88 ). Because I'm rather obsessive compulsive about such things, I can't stand that they don't have them. These both require an odd and large sized 88mm cap. Does anyone have any? Or know of a source? Hoods would be good too...

I suspect the value of this cap is based on the nikon name, which I don't care about and would rather not have.
I just find it strange that I can buy 1 86mm cap for $1.40, yet 88mm is impossible to find and expensive. Damn you Ukrainians and your non-standard threads! |

Given the fact that this size is essentially unobtainable, at any price, even from places like B&H... if I found one for just $15, I would jump on it. Waiting around on principle because of what you think it should cost is not going to make any more of them appear. _________________ Sigma DP1, Nikon D40 (hers ), Polaroid x530, Pentax P30t, Pentax P50, (P30t/P50 K-A to Nikon F body mount conversion)

Point taken but I'm not going to spend $15 on a cap when I spent $30 for the Tair and $50 for the Mir. I'll find some homemade slip-on pvc alternative before doing that. |

Yeah, I made caps from mineral water drum cap, it match 49mm thread, and it goes well on rear EF mount. So you better find something in your house/office. _________________ nex5, Olympus EPM1, yashica half 14, Canon eos 650 want to see samples of mine? please click My lenses
