The price of Pocos and Premos seems to have gone a bit daft - also some really greedy sods are trying to push them up, but I scored one from the same era. Like so many others I've become seduced by the mahogany and brass (with a bit of chrome). As far as I know this takes what became the standard 4x5 film holder, many years later.

I'll take some better pictures of it when it arrives.

Nice stuff. Much more better than tilt/shift and lensbabys nowadays Smile

Can't wait to see the results! Cool

By the way, what does the "standard" 4x5 film holder look like?

Wonderful!

If you can get hold of a spare film holder, it might be worth it to modify it so that it carries a Polaroid back, much like you can see in this beautiful Agfa Isolar conversion

The advantage will be shooting "almost" 9x12 film with no development needed, getting beautiful instant prints and negatives (the process is simple with Fuji FP-100C or B). It will be slightly cropped compared to regular 4x5, but I don't think framing accuracy matters much when all you have is a sports finder. Smile

Edit: as soon as I manage to find a cheap 9x12 camera (Voigltander Avus or hopefully a Kodak Recomar 33) I'll do the same mod. I can't wait shooting with an almost 100-yrs old camera.

I went down a slightly different route, with an Ihagee Duplex; modified a spare 9x12 gg carrier to take a Graflex spring back, which in turn takes 4x5 holders and Polaroid packs.
It also fits my other 9x12 cameras, which was a deliberate choice. If I had a spare Polaroid holder I could modify that, but then that means it's no use in 4x5 backs.

Like these - these are Fidelity Elite; there are others, of course. The original wooden ones were simply copied and improved in plastic, but are backwards compatible - I hope, in this case.

It's arrived, and yes, a standard 4x5 holder fits Smile
There's a bit of minor fettling to be done: one of the back holder brackets is missing; no ground glass present; the lens/shutter needs fastened properly; the bellows need a couple of minor patches; some klutz has bent the front standards opening it instead of using the latch, and I must try to find a brilliant finder that matches it. It was obviously a fairly cheap camera of its type in its day, as the lens/shutter is fairly basic and quite flimsy, but it works perfectly well.
Be interesting to see what it produces.
