I have this ultra-rare S-M-C 120/2.8 which tends to flare a little. So I put a $3,60 petal plastic to it but the thread isn't just in the right position so it wobbles and turns. Fortunately there is thing called clear office tape.

But now I can't use lens cap and I must use Red Hot Chili Peppers' method. But see - the sock is an original Zeiss product ..

Smile
It does produce good pictures. Sending some samples later ..

Shocked No!!!!!!!!! Shocked

That poor lens looks like it's been through the wars!!!

If you have either a 2.8/105 or 4/100 with lens hood, it'll also fit the 2.8/120 Wink

The later versions stated all three models in writing on the side of the hood.

some might call that field expediency. around here, we call it redneck engineering. of course, we'd use duct tape instead of office tape ... Rolling Eyes

Can you give any details on how you made the lens shade or where to look on the forum for more info? I have recently bought one of these lenses and have been looking for a hood. Thanks.

Probably Laughing

I'll see if I have a spare hood from either a 100mm or 105mm that'll fit your lens and PM you - you can have it for the postage cost if I do Wink

If it is not 'contaminated' then I am sure you can scrap some off the surface and send it into a lab to check it out. You want to be sure...right Razz , you won't want to catch some blood bored disease or something Laughing

You probably won't get the reference but there is this little Canadian comedy TV show called The Red Green Show. Duck tape to the rescue! Except that is always gray, yeah battleship grey, that is the ticket!
