there's a 4490 Epson scan of Provia, a bit expired, and a Dwayne's scan of 400H. I recall perhaps the Provia was with the 150 and the 400H with the 75... I do recall backing up further with the Provia (?) which may mean I changed lenses.

I suppose I ought to have done this scientifically, on a tripod with the same everything, not to mention the same scanner. But life's too short. Wink

I do not know what you said, but according to my mildly red/green color blind eyes, there is a difference in hue of the Mustang's body paint ...

The first looks very close to what I get with Ektar. The 2nd is my pick of the
two, colors look very good.

Obviously the first one is Pro 400H. That film turns everything swamp green. Frankly, I hate it.

That's why recently I've been redscaling all my leftover Pro 400H films.

They're great Smile

Easy to choose! The Fujipro 400H looks flat, the Provia looks 3D.

However, the expired Provia needed some magenta killing:

Well you can see the difference quite clearly on a monitor costing 99p to £12, if you don't join the "lemming" crowd...and the monitor? The Mitsubishi 22" CRT......... Wink

Thanks Orio - last night I was struggling with how to kill the magenta, but couldn't get it to go. What did you do?

Someone at pentax forums corrected the 400H:

To my surprise I could get the 400H green to become less so easier than getting the magenta out from the Provia. I still like 400H, though this compare brought out the degree of the swamp in it, for shooting in new york city for example.

I've got a very good 17.2-inch monitor on the new Toshiba. I can see differences, but I couldn't tell you which image is more realistic based on memory of the original, because I would have seen the original in a somewhat false hue anyhow ... Shocked

My monitor isn't very well calibrated, but even so I could see a distinct "unfinished project" cast across most of the image. I tried to correct it the best I could. Very Happy

Super simply: I just loaded the picture in Bibble 5 and moved the magenta-green balance slider of +8 value. Smile

To my eyes, none of the hue iterations matches Mustang red from that era. Of course, the original paint woul be about 43 years old now ...

One more - color corrected - Provia, 150mm, P645

Is it common in the USA to have these places with dead cars abandoned?
I wonder, because here it's not allowed. Sometimes you can still find one, but very rarely. Law prescribes that you must dump broken cars in legally allowed deposits for destruction (and also pay for that).

These are in the parking lot of a volunteer fire dept - the same one that the camera show is in (hence, lots of photos of wrecked cars) Wink

Looks like there is overspray on the vent window and the door handle. I suppose that answers the "original paint" question? Wink
