Film Cartridge & Box Gallery (Please add yours!)

PostPosted: Wed Sep 15, 2010 7:27 am    Post subject: Film Cartridge & Box Gallery (Please add yours!) Reply with quote

So I have a small but growing collection of 35mm (135-format) film cartridges (canisters, cassettes), and I know others here are collecting odd film types, so I thought it might be fun to start a gallery of the different cartridges and their packaging. Cool This could be particularly interesting as a historical reference, as many film manufacturers and film types no longer exist.

I'll keep updating this first post - Please contribute your own films if you can!

Got 'em, thanks. Cool

Do you happen to know the expiration dates on these? I was thinking that having the expiration dates might be a good way to keep track of how old these various films are.

These are from a box full of negatives and plates from my grandmother's house.

I can take better pictures if someone is curious.

Konica Chrome R-100. 12/2001.

Agfa APX. 05/2011. I think it is the last Agfa 135 still available here.
EDIT: just checked: ASA 100 available - ASA 400 end, kaputt, finito .. Sad

Wow, those are great! Shocked How old do you think they are?

Would it be too much trouble to take a picture of each one individually?

You're keeping me busy! Laughing

I see I'm going to have to start adding text for the film format as well. You have quite a collection of 120 film!

Very old dirty boxes. I'm afraid to clean them up and damage the label. One of them is older than me.. Laughing
Sorry I didn't see your request. The expiration of the previous posts are:
Ektachrome Apr 1979
Fujichrome March 1981

Revue Superchrome

this came in a camera I bought, the exposure count was in the mid 20s. However, someone wrote TP on it, and I'm suspicious that they used this nice old style canister to bulk load film.

But what does TP stand for? Technical Pan? any other ideas?

Bonus points for capturing the whole label on the scanner. Very Happy

Have you tried developing it to see what was on it? I think you could determine if it was color or B&W film by looking at the leader...

37 rolls is a good haul!

Were these produced in 1991, or did they expire in 1991? Also, are these B&W film?
