But it's polycarbonate, not metal. And, it's most probably a prototype Laughing

You have forgotten to say what you have to pay for the lens which is normally on the lens hood Twisted Evil

That site has a good concept, but make sure you double check the dimensions & designs before you go through the trouble to build one. The fact that they offer petal hoods for lenses with rotating front elements pretty much proves that they haven't checked for themselves. Wink

A hood for the 800/5.6 is 600$.
