There's a few samples from forum member Jesito:
http://forum.mflenses.com/pentax-sf7-with-vivitar-19-35-and-cheap-kodak-gold-film-t17232.html

I usually search here first when I come across a new lens, and save the wider internet searches for last. More often than not, somebody here has reviewed it, so I just end up back here anyway. Wink

Yes I did same search and I found same result .. that topic is focused on the camera and the shots were done with film, and crops "they're from cheaps scans at the lab"

No info about used focal lenght and aperture, and poor image quality (I think due to scanning) so that grain is clear visible.

That's why I'm asking if anyone knows such lens, and if it is worthy the amount I'm asked for (around 160 Eur).

best regards Smile

I sold a mint copy with boxes for Vivitar Series 1 19-35 Nikon AF for $100usd in my city. This is one of the cheapst wide zoom in this range(20-36mm) for a full-frame camera.

I had a Tamron 19-35mm which is supossedly the same optical design. You find some talk in the internet about different brands of the 3,5-4,5/19-35mm (Vivitar, Tokina, Tamron, Soligor, ...). I never liked it very much and so I seldom used it.
It was sharp stopped down (at least sharp enough for me) but flare was a big problem. There was quiete a bit distortion but I was not to picky about it. Build quality was cheap.

At the end of the day I sold it for 90EUR and got me a 24mm and a 17mm prime lens which suits me better.

I compared the Vivitar/Tamron/... 19-35mm with the 20-35/3.5-4.5 (not the 2.Cool, but in EOS-mount. The Tokina is definitely better, and you don't miss that one mm. It feels more solid, and the edges are much sharper wide open.

Flare is a problem with both, even with the supplied hood.

I don't know whether this one is available in C/Y mount though, and I even don't know if the 20-35 can be found as a MF lens at all.

My apologies. I wasn't implying that it was crap. Just not one of Vivitar's, Cosina's better efforts. if you like it, by all means, use it.

Russ

I roll with the Tamron SP 17mm prime and the Superb Tamron SP 20-40AF lens. However, you can't go wrong with the Tamron SP 17-50 f/2.8 lens. Very good, very affordable. They also just released a VR (vibration reduction) version of it. MUCH cheaper than Nikon and Canon equivalents. I wouldn't hestate to buy one myself.
