moving house, that is, and signs of past and current enthusiasms: shamanism, hi-fi, photography, cameras. Boxes mainly LPs, cameras, books, hifi gear.

Photo on the wall is by someone we should look up: Douglas I. Busch, collotype large format image from 1985:
http://www.superlarge.com/

Speakers visible: JBL Lancers 44 and 77, some Energy little ones, PSB subwoofer (which doesn't seem to be working), Dynaco A25XL. Marantz 2216B, Cinevision dvd player. All except the 77's are hooked up, and I'll hook up the 77's too if I can get the remaining wire to reach. Too bad I packed the Howlin Wolf.

Shaman drum. Boxes of cameras and negatives and photos. And books, And LPs. Too much enthusiasm, I say. Laughing

packing by Nesster, on Flickr

I'd hoped to make a panorama, but it wouldn't work, too much overlap and distortion. Pentax 16-45 at 16mm, f/7.1, 1/60 sec, Nikon SB-28 set to wide, with the diffusior and reflector up, bounced.

Cassandra Wilson's Blue Light Till Dawn playing.

Yes, I have moved too many times...have you finished?
I think the foot adds a lot to the picture.

How's this? (click for full size)

The biggest problem wasn't the overlap, but that the images were taken from slightly different positions. So when some of the boxes lined up, others wouldn't... or the wall wouldn't... or the bubble wrap...

Wow, what software did you use? The old Elements would have let me smash the unaligned pics together, but the new Elements doesn't.

The movers are actually coming Monday so I hope Irene is past us by then. Right now we have 5 hours till she hits us for real; so far it's just rained like hell for the past 10 hours.

good luck with the move, I don't wish to be in your shoes (even if you don't wear any) Wink

I thought I recognized that Marantz; I have two of them that I bought used after going through too many modern solid state receivers and amps. In my 60 years I've only moved three times, which I'm sure is well below average.

I used Hugin. It wouldn't match them automatically, so I defined about 20 manual control points on the boxes and a few on the window frame and carpet.

http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

I've been using Hugin for about 6 or 7 years now, and it has come a long way in just the past few. It has always been very powerful, but the usability features are definitely catching up and improving now.

Nesster: Hope you were able to get moved
