i wouldn't call it ugly, more like very unusual. it wouldn't be an everyday lens for me, but i think it would have its uses. _________________ Digital Slr = Canon 50d (gripped)

I like it because it is unusual. I couldn't use it every day though.

I would call it agressive - it might work with different subject than little girl, f.e. some reportage. It´s interesting, but these photos doesn´t work for me. sorry _________________ equipment doesn´t count, good photographs do |

I am actually more annoyed by the flare than by the bokeh. I second what the others said, that is, the square bokeh might reveal to be creatively good for some particular subjects. _________________ Orio, Administrator

You know, I think that this lens would be fantastic for car photography, the squares could pass as a faux motion blur. _________________ Opticlust.com |

I tried Zenitar ME1 50/1,7 & Meopta 75/4,5 enlarger lens which produce square bokeh too _________________ nex5, Olympus EPM1, yashica half 14, Canon eos 650 want to see samples of mine? please click My lenses

If possible, you should try rotating the lens so that the "diamond" bokeh turns into squares that are aligned to the image edges. I think this would give the OOF highlights a neat "pixelated digital" look. _________________ Sigma DP1, Nikon D40 (hers ), Polaroid x530, Pentax P30t, Pentax P50, (P30t/P50 K-A to Nikon F body mount conversion)

@Moonpix: I have disassembled lens and replaced complete aperture set with cut rubber eye-cup. It's nice matte material.
