i wouldn't call it ugly, more like very unusual. it wouldn't be an everyday lens for me, but i think it would have its uses.

I like it because it is unusual. I couldn't use it every day though.

#5 is lovely.

I would call it agressive - it might work with different subject than little girl, f.e. some reportage. It´s interesting, but these photos doesn´t work for me. sorry

I am actually more annoyed by the flare than by the bokeh. I second what the others said, that is, the square bokeh might reveal to be creatively good for some particular subjects.

You know, I think that this lens would be fantastic for car photography, the squares could pass as a faux motion blur.

You didn't mention what lens is this, pancolart.
I tried Zenitar ME1 50/1,7 & Meopta 75/4,5 enlarger lens which produce square bokeh too

+1

@Orio: I was searching for flares in first two.

@IAZA: Some Revuenon 2.8/135mm I altered.

If possible, you should try rotating the lens so that the "diamond" bokeh turns into squares that are aligned to the image edges. I think this would give the OOF highlights a neat "pixelated digital" look. Cool

+1 Smile

@Moonpix: I have disassembled lens and replaced complete aperture set with cut rubber eye-cup. It's nice matte material.
