These shots were taken by two different lenses. Both were made by the same manufacturer, both are M42.

I'll reveal names of the lenses later, but anyone can guess. Thread is opened to any discussion, of course Wink

I have no idea, but whatever the manufacturer or lens, these two have great bokeh - the transition to out-of-focus areas is very nice in lens B.

The "B" seems a Takumar?
The "A" maybe a Pentacon, or some Carl Zeiss?
What is the focal length?

Came to the same conclusion but in reverse. The first looks like a Takumar and the second (especially in how green is rendered) looks like a Zeiss. So does the person who guesses correctly win the lenses those were taken with? Very Happy

The Bokeh more distracting in the photo of the cup, makes me think Takumar. Rolling Eyes

Dunno what the lens is, but I find it amazing how closely you can match exposure & color between shots. I remember you posting this one, from your CZJ Pancolar 55/1.4. I thought "Lens B" might be from the same set, but the EXIF shows that they were taken almost a month apart! Shocked

No idea about which lenses are used, but I like the dog.

I think some may have missed the fact that the lenses are from the same manufacturer.

I think it's the 50mm & 55mm Tak in that order.

Yes, both are made by the same manufacturer. But the lenses aren't Japanese Smile

martinsmith99: You are pretty close with the focal length of one of the lenses... but lens B is longer (not by a few mm).

Scheimpflug: I always use RAW, but I choose the conversion settings according to my eye; nothing is calibrated (nor my CRT)

Minolfan: Thanks. It's my sister's dog. His name is Bob.

A is a 58mm 2.0 russian. Not sure if a Helios 44M (seems like a newer version, 5th-7th gen. because the light transmission is good) or a Zenitar.
It is pretty hard to determine B, if im correct about A, the should be also a russian, but pretty hard to determine the focal lenght, because it seems the pictures are not all taken with a wide aperture. So Im unsure... The bokeh doesnt look like a Helios, but Im not familiar with the bokeh of older Helios 44 lenses. It can be an Industar...

Thats my best guess.
Greetings from Estonia!

I think it's the 50mm f/1.8 and 80mm f/1.8 Pancolar, respectively. Smile

Of course, we could be plain wrong!

Should I reveal the lenses, or wait for a while?

Still nobody mentioned the right manufacturer, but A G Photography and Spotmatic (-> you are closer Wink ) are very close with the focal lengths Smile

LZOS Jupiter 9 + Volna 9?

PostPosted: Mon May 10, 2010 9:38 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

lenses are made in Germany Smile (but speed and focal length of Volna-9 are very similar to specifications of lens A)

Meyer Domiplan and Primotar?

PostPosted: Mon May 10, 2010 10:14 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

No, the Meyer Primoplan brothers! Smile

The ~50mm lens should be another one because it's not close to the Volna. But I cannot believe it's the humble Domiplan...

PostPosted: Mon May 10, 2010 10:20 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Yes, lens B is Primoplan 75/1.9 Smile

Lens A isn't Primoplan, nor Domiplan... I think I could take a better looking shots by it, but it doesn't allow close-up focsuing and the extension ring I had along was too thick to get the optimal results...

Meyer often shows Zeiss quality
