Latest addition, just bought: a 85mm f/1.9 Super-Takumar for just 50 euros. It's a bit used but should still be fine. I'd love to see how it performs as compared to the S-M-C 85mm f/1.8 version.

Well, I once had 9 of them, but I sold the Tower versions. My most beloved Asahiflex is the set I got complete including the box, the bills (the camera was sold in a camera shop in Okinawa) and even the preceding letter the former owner received from Asahi Optical Co. after his inquiry for more information.

So, the 85mm f/1.9 Super-Takumar arrived in good shape today. I decided to do something different and activated the K-7's video mode. Are these the first videos ever shot with a 85mm f/1.9 Super-Takumar?

Don't expect too much though, I was just playing around. I'm a bad, I repeat: I'm a BAD, videographer. But I am a quick learner Very Happy

(If you've never used Youtube before: click the "HD" icon in the Youtube screen and then the "Fullscreen" icon. Hopefully it looks nice; I cannot check it out fully because my netbook is too slow to display Youtube HD videos.

My wife likes to keep track of "things nobody has ever said before" which she finds endlessly amusing.

Sir, you need an entry in the Guinness Bottle of Pentaxians Wink for this awesome feat. The first and only human to have done this, most likely.

Finally, I got my 5 minutes of fame! Thanks Nesster Laughing

Now THAT is a collection... I had started going that way but (40+ lenses) but having no job and a lot of lenses don't really go hand in hand. How do you feel the 1.9 stacks up against the 1.8? I had the 1.8 for a while and loved it.

its amazing that old Takumar still camera lenses are getting a new life as modern day cinema lenses. who ever would have thought? I tell you what though. the video looks increible. great detail. even full screen. makes me want a K-7.

Indeed and who knows, owning a K-7 might happen sooner than you think Smile

On the way to me is the following lens: the SMC Pentax K 105mm f/2.8. This lens does not appear that often; it appears to be the K-mount version of the S-M-C Takumar 105mm f/2.8. Anyone here who owns the K-mount version?

I'm thinking once they get up to "K-9" they will skip that number. Laughing

Wow, what a collection! Shocked

Peter, what is your opinion of the 1.9/85 compared to the 1.8?

I will try to do a little shoot-out tonight!

And, to be ontopic: I've just received the SMC Pentax 1:2.8/105. Basically it's the K-mount version of the SMC Takumar 1:2.8/105 and it's rather rare. Not super rare, but it isn't easy to find one.

My next project will be finding the SMC Pentax 1:2.8/30. Also a rare K series lens.

Added to my collection this evening: a minty SMC Pentax-M 85mm f/2 in its original case and with the proper caps. It came with a nice Pentax MX as a back cap Cool

The lens is minty, save for a tiny coating mark on the back element where an asshole tried to remove the back element without the proper tools.

I'm happy nevertheless because it was cheaper than cheap Cool

That much for a MX??? I guess I concentrated too much on lenses, I thought that film bodies still went for low prices...

Nevertheless: here's the first test shot with the SMC 85/2 and a picture of it mounted on the MX (the lens front element is still uncleaned; I'll do that later).

First reaction using the MX: damn, the viewfinder is BIGGGGG!!!

Shocked
