Thanks!

Sadly I have three times the quantity shown.. just no flight of stairs long enough to show them all! lol

Missing are:

All my Olympus OM series - 1n thru 4

Most of my rangefinders (Leica Contax and Canon)

4 TLR's (Mamiya, Ricoh, Rollei and another Yashica)

7 Digital P&S

2 Edixamats

9 Canon Manual Focus (FTb thru to T70)

and... 99% of my 100+ lenses...

Cripes!!

I did try alphabetical order but the Zenit 80 kept complaining, so now I have a regular work-out session for all of them and it's survival of the fittest! Smile

It is a lot of work looking after camera gear is it not? I just re activated my silica crystals for the month Very Happy
How do you find the Ricoh slrs compared to say the spotmatics/pentaxs? I am toying with the idea of getting a different camera other than Ricohs.

Quite the collection. I think you will need another set of stairs.

Mo-Fo

I don't find them at all... they find me! lol Smile

Seriously I like the Ricoh stuff, but for 35mm with 42mm screw lenses I think the GAF takes the biscuit.. and it came with a Tomioka made 55mm f1.4 lens too Smile Smile

It's big (so maybe a woman's smaller hands might find it clumsy or heavy) but for me with man-mitts it's just fine Smile Smile

and as for a new set of stairs.. certainly a larger one.. maybe one of those sweeping affairs one sees in 1940's Holywood movies? Smile

Yes only the best for our gear!! Very Happy
Never heard of GAF? American brand?

Yes GAF is an American brand - the camera is a direct steal from a Chinon Memotron... the CE- something or other! Smile

Chinon CE II Memotron, 1976-??
(Also GAF L-ES2 and Argus CR-3E in USA)
Similar to CE Memotron, but double exposure provision and eye-piece blind.
Flash synch at 1/90.
Viewfinder image 92%

The Chinon version

Probably off topic again...how do you store all these?

PostPosted: Fri Apr 09, 2010 10:21 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

GAF was an American film manufacturer who, like Kodak, Agfa, Fuji, etc... had cameras made for them & branded with their name...Likely Cosina made...

I always thought that the Lumix L1 had a stunning visual design - something about it just oozed class and modern sophistication... like a clean new digital design, but with the same pride in workmanship of cameras from decades earlier. Cool

What do you think of it, especially in comparison to your other DSLRs?

I love the Panasonic.. ok it maye not be as 'clean' as the EOS line at high ISO but it has great tonal rendering, it was one of the first to have live view, and I like dials and buttons not menus where the eye leaves the frame... it is also great as it unlike the Oly cosins DOES focus confirm ANY lens fitted.. which is nearly every 35mm lens ever made!
