I learn that highest price on 'buy it now' (on ebay) is disgusting Very Happy, Fooling people. I was fooled, but lucky me, I'm not buying

I not agree, many times final bid not cover purchase cost for seller, but it now is right , but 10-20x more than usual that is not I think.

Attila, I am wondering if it will be useful to put together a "way too high" buy it now seller hall of shame as a sticky? Found some seller who is trying to inflate a normally $20-50 lens by 4 fold to the unsuspected, like this one:

Pretty disgusting

Good idea, you can start a thread for them in Buyer source forum.

gokevincameras always charges outrageous prices. They're always at least double the market value for any lens.

Good luck with that... ebay is filled with overpriced items so you'll get a very large thread. No one's going to browse the whole thread to see if the item they're looking at is in there.
The "Lens Wanted" thread has the same problem. Which seller is going to browse all 23 pages to see if someone is looking to buy their lens? A possibility to search in one thread would make it more feasible.

Perhaps we should post some price offers, of €10,- for this adapter.
If there are 50 guys who say that it's not worth than that he realizes that he cannot fool others so easily. Wink

I think this kind of seller know very well actual market prices.

One of the worst ones I've seen on Ebay is a lens for buy it now price of .99 cents. I believe it was a Canon lens. The shipping was US $799.
Sorry i didn't keep the sellers info.

Yes, and Yes. Wink

I suspect that gokevincameras is a seller who understands supply and demand, and has a good mixture of semi-rare items and patience. Wink Eventually someone will come along who wants a very particular item and will buy it at any price, and Kevin will get a sale. It's a sales strategy just like any other, but this one is low volume, low effort, and not particularly "dependable" for income like medium or high volume standard sales. Wink

Now this on the other hand:

I knew who the seller was before I clicked the link Very Happy . You have to wonder how many of those "minty" lenses the guy actually sells. Maybe he counts on people being accustomed to DSLR lens prices to buy his stuff? It might work for him.

No need to wonder... you can see the titles & prices of his previous sales just by checking his feedback. Wink

Short answer: He sells quite a number of them!

Oh I really agree with the comments that too many sellers on flea bay overprice their items, theres currently a canon F1 which has been on that site for months now with the price (BIN) dropping each time its relisted. surely the seller has spent more on ebay site fees now than if he'd asked a realistic price in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes but this is a RARE adapter. Shocked

If you compare this to a very common adapter like C/Y - EOS, it is only $50 more.
