@Benedikt: I really like you website and the photography of you and your friends! But hey, you're pretty young, not even 30! And already into MF lenses, great!

Oh, thank you very much! I´m always glad to see our homepage find favour with someone. I would be curious which pictures or locations you like best.

But I think we should rather open a new thread for these things instead of hijacking this one.

What exactly do you mean with "not totally safe"? Becoming addicted to lenses, or entering abandoned buildings?

Addicted to lenses of course Laughing

Next to come : Panagor 55mm f2.8 Macro 1:1 lens in OM mount !
Also some Pentax K lenses that I will not probably hack to fit the 5D (they will goes better on my brother's K10D) : SMC Pentax-M 28/2.8, 40/2.8 and 50/2.0.

I've just won an Auto Mamiya Sekor f1.4 55mm. Not in great shape but the price was nice. I'm just a big fan of this 55/1.4 lens !

I thought bargains time was over, but there is some nice place to look for appart fleabay - doesn't it, fotomachi ? Wink

Here are my next to come :

- Ricoh XR-500 camera with XR-Rikenon 45mm f2.8 pancake lens (seems a nice little gem, probably for my brother's K10D)

Those pancakes lenses just make me crazy ! Unfortunately I can't play with most PK lenses without lenses surgery..

- SMC Pentax-M lenses : 28/2.8 (again!) and 135/3.5 (for my brother's K10D)
- Rikenon 500mm F8 mirror lens in PK mount (for my brother's K10D)
- Contax Planar T* 50/1.7 (to have a death match against Yashica ML 50/1.7)

About the Panagor 55/2.8 1:1 macro lens: it's the same as Elicar one's.

Oh, and Tair-3S : Click here to see on Ebay

congrats Florent!
I cannot follow this thread, every 2 days you buy new lens Laughing
I will wait your reviews of the contax against other 50mm...
In fleabay link for Tair-3S I read "pistolet objectif mais sans l'objectif bonne etat". Does it mean the lens is not included

You are right, but the vendor has some problem with french, as he has replied me that what I will get what it is displayed on the pic Wink

Flor, you will probably be very satisfied with the Mamiya Sekor 55/1.4. My copy is fabulous. I took a whole roll of my pregnant step-daughter, and it worked as a wonderful portrait lens. Of course, that is subjective, because some don't like a perfectly sharp lens for portraiture. And let me tell you --this lens is superbly sharp! While "sharpness" isn't the only indicator of a good lens, it sure doesn't hurt.

PostPosted: Thu Mar 06, 2008 8:02 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I went to the same conclusion Laurence, because I already own this lens Wink

And now a third copy will hopefully arrive : Click here to see on Ebay
Let me explain why I'm chasing this lens : you are right, it's perfectly sharp even wide open. The first serie I did with it looks very promising, even if this Mamiya/Sekor lens is in poor condition. At least the focusing ring is perfectly smooth and I can choose an perture, but there is no more click stops, the A/M switch cannot stay in position, and the ring with rules is slightly missaligned of about 2 cms, the rear lens element is also not in perfect condition, but it's quite common as it is protruding a lot at infinity setting and is fully naked - and it hit the 5D mirror two !

So I'm looking for a better copy, even if I could repair this one - some unscrewing job and tiny ball bearing for the clicks.

And now this lens will be a gift for the people I've converted to MF lenses - they just don't spent as much time as me chasing lenses Wink

I've received a Zenitar in C/Y mount, so now I will have the opportunity to compare it to the Sigma 16/2.8 fisheye, but first the Zenitar is so tiny Shocked

Also on my desk today, Jupiter-9 apertures blades set from an ebay ukranian vendor: it was a special BIN auction placed for me to repair ones I've got broken.

Next to come : Tamron SP 60~300mm, a very nice zoom as far as I can imagine with some review on MFLenses Wink

Cheers
Florent

You'll like it, I'm sure. It's a heavy thing, but not too much so.

The bokeh is really good on this, considering the amount of crap in the background - you simply can't see it anymore.

Thank's Dave;

Reviews on MFLenses are nasty because they focuse me on too many gears like this one !

Today I have received some lenses for my brother : SMC Pentax-M 28/2.8 and 153/3.5, -

Also a mirror lens: Revuenon 500mm 1:8.0 in T mount. It's not the commonly seen "noname" 500/8 japanese / corean mirror lens (I have one, Makinon rebranded) and it may be nicer Wink

This is not this one : http://m42.artlimited.net/lens_detail.php?lid=395 but I guess a newest version.

Indeed, next to come : Vivitar Serie 1 600mm f1:8 Solid Cat ! Very Happy

PostPosted: Sat Mar 22, 2008 8:49 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Viv 600 Solid Cat arrived yesterday ... what a lovely lens ! Shocked
I have yet to find a T2 to something adapter in order to test it... and some more sun Crying or Very sad

I guess it's the shortest 500~600mm lens.
So to counterbalence it, the next come will be another monster in it's class : Pentacon MC 500/5.6 !

Some pics of the beauty (next to a Mamiya/Sekor 55/1.4) :

http://flor27.free.fr/forums/vivitar_solid_cat_600_8.0/

Sorry for the quality... I will bring my lenses in the white box used by my brother as on the pic I've done saturday for his collection:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/trypode/2376934328/

Sure, I own many, many lenses now, but still missing some famous ones - I mean the famous ones that I want Wink

Afters some search and targeting another source for lenses, next to come will be a Flektogon MC 20/2.8 in mint state ! I got it for 60 €, probably because it is in Praktica B mount... that I will try to convert in M42, or EOS if I fail.

Cheers

Florent

Thank you again for the pic of my lenses ! Very Happy

You are welcome Wink

Next to come : Oly Zuiko 28/2.0. I've read some great reviews and seen shots done with this lens that I was tempted to buy it at a high price (110€ sh.inc).

Probably the last to come (*) will be the well regarded Tamron SP 70~150 f:2.8 soft focus zoom. Found one for 60€ but don't know yet the state.

I am a little bit afraid to buy zoom lenses as half of the ones I've received had fungus, and cleaning a zoom just makes me crying - I will only try to do that if the lens cost me nothing.

(*) my fastly growing collection is over, I could get many great lenses (and many more other Rolling Eyes ) in 6 months that I must stay to myself "Ok! So now go take some and go out shooting !"
There are still missing gems : a fast 35mm for all day around wearing (Nikkor 35/1.4 ?) ; a fast f:1.2 50mm lens for night club shooting Cool and that's all.
