It looks like the FX-3 would be a good candidate for a new leather covering?

This stops me sleeping... I can't choose the right leather: green or pink python skin !?

I LOVE this particular leatherette covering. Rich and beautiful, and I've seen it on an Olympus camera in person. It knocked me out - luscious!

I was just kiding, but as the leatherette is all gone, I will have to replace it, so why not a nice color as this one ? I realy like it too, it makes this camera as "noble" as some old books.

I would choose this one, sober and discreet:

Not yet, I still have to receive it first... they are "next to come" Wink I got it for 200 € incl p&p, not bad as the Distagon itself goes for more on eBay. Still, I don't have a Contax body but, hey, I'm not that much into film Embarassed

You know it would be cheaper to find a different body. The FX-D is prone to problems, it is not the best yashica did. I would suggest don't put money into it. Use it as an ugly street shooter until it dies. Better to find a nice Contax RTS or yashica FR-1 which will cost the same or less as new leather for the FX-D.

That's great Cool The FR-1 is a really nice camera from that era. I hope you get a good one. One problem to expect is the frame counter goes bad in all the FR cameras. It is a weak spring. I had one fixed in my FR last summer it cost only $40. The part is cheap and the repair man charged me only for 1/2 an hour labor. How fun for you (and us) that you get all this gear!!

Andy Very Happy

Well, I'm not nice as a photographer at all Embarassed and also, it's quite difficult for me to find something to shot actually : my suburb town is not fancy, people in subway don't want to be pictured and my job's surrounding is full of non interesting buildings and places... Paris is a nice city if you have spare time Wink

I was in great expectation about this lot and I'm very happy now it comes to me :

From top to down and left to right :

- Carl Zeiss Tele-Sonnar T* 3,5/200 C/Y Made in Germay
- Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2,8/25 C/Y Made in Germay
- Yashica FR 1 body with Yashica ML 50/1.7 lens
- Sunpack and Rollei E24 C flashlights
- Hoya rubber sunhood

Great set. This lens alone would have made me think about buying it.

@Benedikt: I really like you website and the photography of you and your friends! But hey, you're pretty young, not even 30! And already into MF lenses, great!

If I tell you that I have got the whole set for less than the regular ebay price for this lens alone... Wink

Next to come : Zenitar in C/Y mount.

I've received the Vivitar 24/2.0 in OM mount but as reported many times on the web, aperture blades are sticky Smile
