I was just digging around and came across these from the 1990s.

I wish I had taken more as this town is like a time warp (I will go back one day and see if it is still the same!)
peterqd if you come to oz you must take a trip to here it is on the way to Bathurst about 2-3 hrs from Sydney(Rusty memory but worth a look!)

I went to Google to see if the Street View car had driven through... it hadn't, but it gave me this photo:

I suppose sometimes it is best to just remember things the way you remember them. Sad

Hello, mo.
Nice place, definitely one I'd like to explore with a loaded camera. Such places have a kinda "left behind", I cannot define better, mood. I've seen something like that in California, far away from the big cities.

Cheers, M.-

Sad What a shame it looks like it is being developed....that old store had a Pile of shorn wool with dags that had been there for a very long time...inside was well..... a really interesting store!
Thanks for that updated photo...I have to go back now and see the change. It was such a unique place.

A lot of these gold mining areas had nationalities from all over the world so the influence on architecture could have come from anywhere.I have some films of another gold area but they have yet to be developed.

Good choice of film for this subject. Gold is often sneered at, but I think it has its place.

That's cool. I love the Gas Pumper, especially. Mike

Hello mo, I'd love it! We went through Braidwood on our way to Canberra. That's a historic place too, but I expect you know it well. There were lots of interesting old buildings. The boarded and covered sidewalk reminded me of old Westerns, I was half expecting the Sheriff to ride up and hitch his hoss to the rail Smile
