Forget the box (which isn't anything to do with the lens, but as usual they describe in detail.. as they never have a clue what they are selling)

Seems perfectly usable to me!
Some quick "back of the envelope" math:
Four Thirds sensor: 17.3 x 13 mm = 224.9 mm^2
Standard 8 film frame: 4.5 x 3.3 mm = 14.85 mm^2 = 6.6% of m4/3
Super 8 film frame : 5.79 x 4.01 mm = 23.22 mm^2 = 10.3% of m4/3
For the sensors, Panasonic has 12.1 or 12.11 megapixels, depending on the model, and Olympus has 12.3. Using 12.11 for our calculations, we get the following:
12.11 * 6.6% = 0.8 megapixels
12.11 * 10.3% = 1.25 megapixels
Now, in terms of pixel counts, these are comparable to the standard resolutions of 1024x768 and 1280x1024. While not enough for enlargements or medum/large prints, either of these is plenty of resolution for most web galleries.
The figures above also make the assumption that you crop to the original 8mm film frame sizes. But since the lenses will certainly cover a larger shape, if you can tolerate some vignetting in the corners you could enlarge your crop area a bit and gain quite a bit more resolution.... even to the point of using the whole image circle. There are likely some odd optical artifacts outside the center of the frame, but that's just part of the character of these old lenses.

Not at this price point! I probably would have gone for it if they shipped internationally. _________________ Sigma DP1, Nikon D40 (hers ), Polaroid x530, Pentax P30t, Pentax P50, (P30t/P50 K-A to Nikon F body mount conversion)
