Attila,

If you want proper pictures for the forum archives (rather than my dusty one where I just grabbed the lens from a shelf 10 minutes ago and took a point and shoot snap) then I can takes some, and also provide a write-up with sample shots taken on either the K10D or the Pany L1 (digital) or nearly any 35mm maker you care to request Smile

Doug

MUST DUST... MUST DUST... MUST DUST... lol

Many thanks ! I wish to publish your review, if you have samples taken with this lens would be very nice also.

I shall make a review and send that, the pictures of the lens itself and the sample photos all to you, and you may edit them as you wish Smile

Probably tomorrow you should have them (if it stops raining so I can take some sample pictures!!!) lol

The most interesting lens to me is the AF 70-210mm F/4 [IF] 47A. It is a autofocus lens!Shocked

Adaptall-2 with AF ?!! How can do it ?

I did some Googling... apparently it has a beam splitter and its own fully contained AF system. The lens required batteries, and the camera didn't know anything about it - so any standard Adaptall-2 mount could be used. Cool

Interestingly enough, one of the information sources I found was an old version of MFLenses. Very Happy
http://web.archive.org/web/20080614201236/http://www.mflenses.com/content/view/60/

Shall we move the content of the old version to the current version?

I did find it surprising that the info was no longer available on mflenses.com. Perhaps Attila will know why it had disappeared? Question

I guess it was lost under migration or I change my mind sometimes, I don't remember.

(I think I now have every Adaptall-2 (CF and SP) apart from the f2.8 fast 28-200)

Doug

Is that the dedicated hood for the lens in your photo? If so, what is the number on the side of it? It is hard to make out in your photo.

Well, that's a new one on me! My shopping list just got longer.
Not an easy one to find I guess?

Is the "Adaptall" and "Adaptall-2" lenses (non-SP) suppose to be empty?

I had the same problem with Firefox. Conflict with the "Adblock Plus" add-on. Make sure you disable Adblock for that site.

Same problem here. In my opinion, that is a problem which should be resolved - ie: we should figure out what it is about the site that trips up ABP. ABP is an extremely popular plugin, so if the site doesn't work with it, then it will limit the viewers. Neutral

Have you noticed the original site is back up? It has references to Tamron lenses on there but so far the only content is a series of commercial looking "blog" entries.

I'm not sue what's happening.

I did try to get adaptall-2.com with backorder service by godaddy, certainly I couldn't ...

Hey Attila,

I'm a little late to this thread. Didn't realize you had acquired adaptall-2.org. But I'm certainly glad you did.

I just read through fatdeemon's post about the commercial-looking entries, so I checked, and clicked on all the left tabs, and things certainly look normal to me.

Will you be adding content for the two tabs that are still labeled (coming soon)? F-system lenses and the mounts.

I can add but source code is quiet simple require hand work, no I am focusing on marketplace replacement and on lens database here.

Just spam .. genuine domain is hi-jacked to get income from google advertises.

Are you refering to the .com site? I've always thought it strange that it has nothing to do with adaptall-2 lenses. Most if not all of the articles are about DSLRs and their lenses. I wouldn't categorize them as spam, though, just articles full of very generalized information, some of which is incorrect. But it really isn't spam, since the articles aren't trying to sell anything. And the google ads are no more, and in fact less than many commercial sites I visit on occasion. The site just seems . . . pointless.

I guess I'm not following you about your "hijacked" comment -- or at least I don't understand why it continues. I had a domain hijacked. I owned it but hadn't listed it with a hosting service yet, and in the meantime a domain-name reseller had sold it to someone else. All it took was one call to my domain name registrar and the person who had "hijacked" the domain was dumped. I promptly listed it with a hosting service to prevent that from happening again.

I sent a number of scans of Tamron brochures, mostly AF lenses I think, to Marcus when the old site was apparently still active. Are those extant?

I have been acquiring Tamron lenses, mostly SP, since the mid 1980s. They were originally to use with my Canon A1 but have long been used with my Olympus OM2n and then with my two OM4s.

Some lenses have taken longer than others to obtain at an affordable price. The SP 400mm f4 arrived only last month and the 350mm mirror only yesterday.

Welcome! Nice to see you here! Sadly I have no idea what did happen with Marcus. I couldn't reach him I just rescued your works. Congrats for your rare gems new Tammys I wish to see samples taken with them.

Welcome to the forum!

Sadly the old site and its owner seem not to be available. The new home here will hopefully do it justice.

On a Tamron AD2 note, I have the 90mm and the 300/5.6. Good lenses ecept CA on the latter.

May I say, I think it is time to move on. Since you've done the due dilligence with respect to trying to contact Marcus, and you've had no success, it is obvious that he has abandoned interest. So, I think it is perfectly acceptable to begin refurbishing and adding content to the site. Especially since this is a non-commercial endeavor and there is no profit motive involved, it would be difficult, if not impossible, for Marcus (or his heirs) to take offense. On what grounds?

I'm a published writer and editor, and if there's anything I can do to help out at adaptall-2.org, I'd be happy to lend a hand, as time permits.

Being a big fan of Tamron optics, I refer to Adaptall-2.org on a regular basis, and am very grateful that Attila rescued the site from oblivion. Moving along, however, it would be nice to see some of the blanks filled in. Also perhaps a bit more info for the older lenses. Right now, they're translated from the Japanese and just contain factory specs and comments.

Michael, if you are willing to improve it I will give you an ftp access and you able to do with an HTML editor like Dreamwaver.

Sure, I'd be happy to. But rather than have me just go in there and start making changes wherever -- I would much prefer it if you and others who are involved with content additions and improvement give me some idea of what exactly you want changed or added and in what manner. It would be more productive that way, I feel.
