This oldie is still a real gem. As more I use it, more I like it. As much as the DP1s. But this one, even having a much smaller sensor, has macro capabilities and zoom, and it's much more useable.

Some samples from past weekend at Logroño:

Regards,
Jes.

Being one of your x530 buddies Wink I can confirm that this compact cam is a very special one.
If only the noise was a bit better...

True, one has to stick to the ISO100...

Jes, if you ever see another one for sale over there, LMK, OK? They are
hard to find on US ebay.

Post more when you can. Wink

For sure, I'll keep both eyes opened all the time... Wink

Mine came from the US as "new old stock".
It has a dust spot on the sensor, so I'd be eventually opening it in the future.

I collected my x530 from the post office today and going through the box
suddenly realized that, buying this from a European vendor there is no
US AC adapter to go over that quaint round-pronged plug you guys use
over there. Mad So no battery is getting charged tonight and first time takes
8 hours. ugh

Is loading the software disc important? I was thinking about just downloading
the files from the reader and working with them in PS, etc.

Download the Sigma DP1 software from the Sigma site, it works with the x530 raw files too.

Seconded. The processing software has come a long way since the x530 was released, and it can be quite surprising to see how much better the results can be with the newest software. Cool

I'll have to give it a try, then.

I use Adobe Ligthroom 2.7 and it's fine for me so far...
