I've been quite impressed with UFRaw for processing raw images from digital cameras. I think it can be used standalone, but I've always used it from within GIMP. It's open-source and cross-platform.

For scripted or batch image processing from the command line, you can't beat ImageMagick. It is daunting at first, but an exceptionally powerful tool set. Open-source and cross-platform as well.

Hi there.
Rawtherapee looks like it's well a well regarded raw converter. I cannot give a personal comment, though (I'm still analog guy ). Linux, Windoze and Mac.
Negfix8 is a shell script based on Imagemagick, useful to invert linear scans of color negs (it get rid of the orange mask). Works well with BW too. I'm still experimenting but looks sound programming. It runs on Linux and Mac for sure. If you're able to run the Bourne Shell on Windoze (it should be possible somewhat) it will work there too.
Gqview is a nice simple viewer with slideshow capability and some other useful functions. Linux. Looks like there is a Win port too.
Cheers. _________________ Canon FD
