... that i have been waiting two years to photograph. the light was right this past saturday morning. both pics r2m, cv 34/2.5 color skopar, hp5, tmax 1+9, 12 minutes, 72F.

Is there still a mine, and is it sealed off? Any equipment left behind?

we live in an area covered with abandoned and active strip and underground mines (yes, coal is pretty big in our part of alabama). i suspect this one was worked by pick, shovel, and mule drawn cart. best i can figure, it catered to folks using coal for heating, so they bought by the wagon or bucket full ...
