Out of more than 50 lenses I have, the most 3D by far is Zeiss Sonnar 85/2.8 (C/Y mount). Then, the 50/1.4 and 50/1.7 Planars. Nikkor 50/1.4 AI/AIS. Then Zeiss Distagon 28/2.8. And that's about it for me.

There is always the Vivitar Series 1 Q-DOS. (Red/cyan anaglyph)

Otherwise, there are the add-on beam-splitter type attachments (Loreo, etc).

Any lens which is decently sharp with a nice smooth boken will give 3D images. It's not some magical quality of a particular lens, it's more a function of the relationship between the distances to the subject and to the background. The optimum distances are greater for longer focal lengths.

Do a little trial - use a 135 lens, set the aperture around 2.8 or 4, choose a subject say about 50m away and the background about 100m. Now keep taking shots as you walk slowly towards the subject, refocussing of course.

Hi,

I would like to clarify myself abit. The lenses I am after are the ones that produce the best pop effect. One example is the Meyer Orestor 135mm

Refer to the thread linked to in the first reply. No need to replicate that discussion again.
