I certainly didn't need another film camera, but I couldn't pass up the deal on this one. It's an Olympus Superzoom 80G, boasting the following specifications:
Olympus Website wrote:
* Fully automatic autofocus zoom camera
* 2x zoom lens, 38 - 80 mm / f4.5 - 8.9, incl. two aspherical lens elements
* Accurate autofocus system
* 6 flash modes
* Shutter release locks if object not within the minimum focusing distance
* Quartz date model for imprinting year/month/date/time available

The camera is in perfect shape, and came with a battery. Everything is perfectly clean, even in the cracks between the case halves, so I suspect that it has had very little use.

The thing is, I didn't really need another camera, so I don't know what to do with this one. Very Happy I bought it because it was only NZ $5 (~ US $3.75 or €2.85), had a roll of film in it, and had two unused rolls of film that came with it. Surprised The counter on the camera is at "1" (meaning no shots have been taken), so I effectively got 3 rolls of film for a little over half of the cost of ONE roll. Plus a free camera. Very Happy

Has anyone ever used one of these Olympus Superzooms, or remembers any reviews?

At least it looks nice. I think I would have purchased too. I also bought some disposable camera's for € 2 each, just to get some cheap film. But it is hard to resist to try the Olympus, I think. Laughing

Yes, it is tempting to give it a try. The only problem is that just developing a test roll will cost 3x the price I paid for the camera... and use up one of the three rolls of film. Wink

I suppose I will just keep a roll of film in it, and keep it in the car to use for times when I don't have my other cameras with me. The cameras aren't really worth a lot used (between $5 - $25), so it is hardly worth the effort to try to resell it. Wink

It should be a very decent point and shoot. I had the Olympus Stylus Zoom
(35-70mm) that I used for years in the navy:

Katastrofo results look OK, but I wouldn't buy another P&S camera with zoom lens after seeing the results from the Olympus 105g that I bought for my wife.
