I came across a listing for this lens 135mm/1.2:8...looks very interesting.Unsure of the mount at this stage.
Thanks for any insight.

I was looking at the same one. Very Happy

I couldn't tell what the mount was either, but noticed that it looked quite short & wide for a 135mm.

It's almost worth it for the price, isn't it? Very Happy

Very Happy Oh yes very tempting....could be a dog...or a little treasure.

So apparently there is a second focus ring on it, and the front element can move independently just a bit to allow it to focus more closely...

Other posts on other forums all seem to recognize it as a curiosity.. the only one to talk about the image quality said that it was "OK"...

And it sounds like it might have some sort of oddball adapt-to-anything mount.. sort of like a Sigma version of Tamron's adaptall? I found one post where someone had found this lens, but couldn't say anything about it because the adapters were hard to find...

Maybe if you are lucky it has fungus on the inside of the front element, and you could twist that extra piece around to the macro mode and get a picture of it? How many people have a lens that can take a picture of its own fungus?? Very Happy

Judging from the paint worn off around the focusing barrel, it looks like it has seen some use. I suppose that is a good sign?

Hi!
I had one but I sold it very quickly Rolling Eyes ....In my opinion, it's only (may be) an interesting lens because you can use it as macro lens with max rapport 1:3 if I good remember...but the IQ was quite low, not sharp and with an ugly bokeh (for my test I mean!) Confused ...
Mine was with M42 mount but may be it was a T4 mount with adapter, I also don't remember it!
For macro/close-up, I've got much better results with a pentacon 2.8/135mm mount with extension ring for exemple Wink ......
Here are two pictures from my lens:

How much does it cost to ship a lens across the Tasman, by the way?

I've never bought anything from Australia... but if you're buying up everything from NZ, I might just have to start. Very Happy

I have family in NZ,so they are my middle man.I think the postage would not be too bad.You would like Australian ebay...some nice goodies there.I love "trade me" as some things are really cheap and you don't get them in Oz,not that I have bought a lot.

I'll have to check it out sometime. Wink

Speaking of which, did you see that the Sigma auction was updated?

Here's the question & answer section:

Question: Hi, do you mind to post a clear photo of the rear part of the lens? I need to know what's the mount for. Cheers. pigwoods (21 ) 11:31 pm, Wed 31 Mar
Answer: Sorry but it's rear part looks ok 10:35 am, Thu 1 Apr
Question: Hi, "rear part looks ok" for what kind of the lens mount? if you want it sold, you better put up a picture, let bidders know what they are going to bid for. Thanks. pigwoods (21 ) 3:02 pm, Thu 1 Apr
Answer: Hi there, I uploaded the photo for you. Thanks 8:46 pm, Thu 1 Apr

So there you have it - the mount type is "rear part looks ok". Very Happy

They did attach one more picture though - looks like a Minolta mount to me.

Yes and some fungus possibly on the rear element....I love the way NZ sellers reply to some of the questions Laughing Laughing Way better than some ebay sellers.

It is interesting, that's for sure.

What surprises me is how many can't be bothered to post a picture. $200+ items, and you can't be bothered to do any more than write two sentences about it?

It's just like ebay though... if you're willing to take some risks, you might end up with some real treasures... or some real junk. Very Happy

18 hours left, and it actually has not one but TWO bidders! They've driven the price all the way up to $1.50. Very Happy

The reserve has been met... any bets on how high it will go?
