Beautiful pictures. Something to aspire to.

What can I add? It's just my all-time favourite lens Very Happy
Your bokeh seems "quieter" than mine, but the soothing mediterranean evening light conditions of your photos are completely different from the acid and harsh light that I had Sunday morning at the camp.
Very nice set of photos, with the second-to-last one being really gorgeous.
I also love 1 and 2

Beautiful shots, Poilu! Yeah, I'm jealous, too... Wink

Colors leap off the screen even on my laptop at work!

Fabulous quality. I like last photo best.

Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! Shocked Shocked Shocked
I think a 1.4/35 is, as Orio has pointed out several times, a lens that can replace almost any other.

thanks!
I push a little the colors but the 3D and bokeh cannot be pp
some more from today walk, always wide open

Yes, very nice, I love the picture of the two old women and that of the public bathroom (love that M. and W. painted on the wall!)
Really those streets with the ancient stones and walls and doors are a photographic Bengodi.

Really good set of pics, Poilu. They give a flavour of life in your locality. It looks like that girl was wondering what the guy with the camera was doing hanging around the public bogs. Smile

Thanks for nice comments!

The old town is protected by European Laws and nothing can change without agreement of a architectural commission
They made underground TV cable and citizens are only allowed to use stones and wood.
Only the main street is visited by tourists. The rest of the town is a paradise for photographers.

Before 20 years the old town was for poor people.
Now many people start restore old house and make town cleaner.

I prefer the actual situation, little dirty but more 'real' for pictures.

I am like Attila and I don't like too much this kind of photography.
But the distagon made so nice result that I am tempted to 'walk again'

This thread deserves a bump.
The Distagon 1.4/35 should be in every MF addict list of lenses. Laughing
Beautiful Shots Poilu Nice to see them again.

I really like this series, thanks for sharing! It shows that one does not need to be afraid for shooting wide open.

Also, I like the old town... where old things are actually old and not an old core with a new cover! In The Netherlands, all old buildings still look new because it seems that we don't like traces of decay... Which is great, but it's bad from a photographer's point of view Wink

POILU -- great!

The last one -- SUPERB..

You have got a perfect copy of this lens !

@ kind of these pictures -- it's a photographer's choice -- once has made a decision -- Smile

I agree with Spotmatic -- nice buildings are nice but boring sometimes Smile

it is not by luck...
when I got this lens, I was not happy with the borders until 2.8 and was ready to send it back
the center was so impressive that I decide to send it for service
after 2 months in Japan, I got indeed a perfect copy Wink
