Make an aperture

Has anyone ever made an aperture? I have a CZJ T50/2.8 with sticky blades and while I was taking it apart, wondered how hard it would be to design and fabricate a new one (taking it to 9, 11, or more blades). Has anyone ever heard of or tried anything like that?

Kathmandu looks like he may be able to give you some pointers

Also ask iangreenhalgh1, he can make almost anything with old camera parts

Never heard about a DIY build iris. Repair of an iris is common, but to make the very thin blades and their cones would be much work.

Making one from scratch sounds daunting, you might be able to salvage one from a donor lens.

There's an ebay seller with a prebuilt aperture thingy, looks like it's intended for people building or converting lenses.

Click here to see on Ebay

You could always convert it to Waterhouse stops. Very Happy
