Yesterday evening:

30° C | 85% r.h. | heavy thunderstorms and hail of the size of a golf-ball in a town about 15 km away. We were lucky, we "just" had heavy rain (30 litres/m²) and thunderstorms.

This photo was taken about 30 min before it started, it was raining already:

(Shot with my wife's Panasonic Lumix FZ20, the only cam that was in reach. Wink)

Just had a series of grumbling thunderstorms pass overhead - had to disconnect the web antenna for a while, just in case. No lightning strikes to ground, but plenty of inter-cloud ones.

Attila, we also have more than 90% regularly here in Germany in summer, our summers are very humid. But this is outside, not in the house. Inside I have a mechanical de-humidifier for my study and a chemical one for my cabinet. Brings it always down to under 60%, even if it is 95% outside.

60% a lot too, not a safe range for lenses. In my experience safe zone is below 55%

Sometimes there is nothing you can do. And 60% is not really bad. Otherwise my lenses would all be full of fungus - they are not.

Lucky you, I left a lens on 60 % for a week, fungus come out on surface first like oily spots.

High relative humidity is not really a problem if the lens is at a similar temperature to the air, as the vapour will not condense into water. If the lens is colder than the air, like when you come indoors in the winter, the vapour condenses and "steams up" the lens. Problems happen when a cold lens is left in its case or in a bag after coming into a warm room.
