Wow, some amazing shots here!

I don't do flower shots well or often, but here's some recent ones I thought were okay, all with Fujinon-TV 1.8/75:

Rose in my front garden I bought 20-odd years ago and still going strong.

Someone's front garden, no idea what this is.

A wildflower common here, can't remember what it is.

Pansies in a trough in my back yard.

Ian, #2 is an Astilbe of some kind - there are lots of garden cultivars. #3 is Epilobium angustifolium (Rosebay Willowherb, Fireweed, etc.)

#4 are Petunias - lots of commercial varieties.

Cheers John. I knew those ones I planted began with a P! lol

We have a lot of wildflowers here,it's a haven for rare species, we have bee orchids, lady's slipper orchids, natterjack toads, great crested newts, and I see a lot of different birds of prey all the time. They say barn owls are not so common today, but we have loads. I'll try to do some wildlife work in the near future, it's one thing I haven't tried much. I think I can find the elusive and tiny lady's slipper orchid, I know where to look.

I'm told this flower is a Cosmos but I'm open to correction. Two shots, two lenses, both wide open.

Love this thread, especially this time of year! Here's some from 2013.

1) last rose of the year - bellows Takumar 100/4 at f/8, tripod.

2) dandelion, dew - bellows Takumar 100/4 at f/8, no tripod but I was laying on the ground

3) in the backyard with Flecktogon - Flektogon 35/2.8 at f/8, handheld

4) Primotar bokeh ring attempt - Meyer Primotar 135/3.5, probably wide open.

5) Valentines - Flektogon 35/2.8 at f/8.

6) more Valentines - Flektogon 35/2.8 at f/8.

Only 4 months or so until I have flowers to shoot again!

Here are some of mine: The one with the butterflies was taken on my 6d with a Hanimex 55 1.7, the other 2 are with the trusty old Helios 44m

(Sorry if they are to big, not sure how to make them smaller)

Cheers,

Nikon D80 + Nikkor 28/2 wide open.

These are very small, less then a centimeter.

Beautiful, Olivier,I really like #6 in your first set for the focal plane moving/cutting across the flower to where the petals are nearly touching (I hope I explained it well enough ).I also like #3 in the 2nd set....how would it look with the left side cropped just a little (remove that leaf)?
