I have had a few bargains...Most of these were mint when I got them...From cheapest to dearest:

Vivitar 135mm f2.8 (£2 from a camera shop)
Auto Reflecta 55mm f1.7 (£2.74 inc.postage on ebay)
Pentacon 50mm f1.8 (£3 inc.postage on ebay)
Tokina 17mm f3.5 (£10 from a pawn broker)
Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.4 (£14.46 inc.postage on ebay)
Tamron 80-210mm f3.8 macro (£15 inc.postage on ebay)
Vivitar 28-200mm f3.5-f5.6 macro (£17.50 inc.postage on ebay)
Vivitar 35-200mm f3-f4.5 macro (£18.50 inc.postage on ebay)
Nikon E-Series 50mm f1.8 (£26.49 inc.postage on ebay)
Canon FL 55mm f1.2 (£39.12 inc.postage on ebay)
Taylor-Hobson 12" (304.8mm) f4 (£41.50 inc.postage on ebay)
Enna Tele-Ennalyt 400mm f4.5 (£41.80 inc.postage on ebay)
Mamiya 645 80mm f2.8 (£50 from a camera shop)
Sigmatel Multi Scalematic 135mm f1.8 (£54.56 inc.postage on ebay)
MTO 1000A 1100mm f10.5 (£65 inc.postage on ebay)
Nikkon Micro Nikkor 55mm f2.8 (£67.39 on ebay, no postage as I picked up in person).

I have plenty more lenses but they all cost more than the Micro Nikkor 55mm f2.8, so I would'nt call them bargains.

I would say, Alex, your bride is correct. If she thinks of herself as the greatest bargain you have ever obtained, consider how highly she thinks of you ... Very Happy

The Auto Rikenon 50/2, with rolev m.g. skylight filters - all glass is mint - that I received this week is, indeed, a fine bargain at $11. It is a sharp lens.

This form a garage sale last week.. I already had one but this was nearly mint, and came with the 50mm f1.4, a 70-210 Series 1 (with horrible lens body but perfect optics) and the pictured Vivitar 2.5 / 90mm and x2 adapter for... $27 so I couldn't resist...

Photo taken with the trusty Planar 50mm f1.4 on the Panasonic L-1 using the world's oldest and worst flashgun (but only one with batteries!) with camera perched on my Canon Negative Scanner...

While not as impressive as some of the stories on here, I have what may be considered a coup rather than a steal. Yesterday, I scored a Pentax Spotmatic camera with a Super Multi Coated Takumar 50 1.4 attached to it for $50 from a Buy/Sell consignment shop. It had a little dent on the filter barrel but other than that, it's perfect. Considering this lens alone goes for up to $200 on Ebay, I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

And just today, I won a Nikon fit Vivitar Series 1 70-210 3.5 second run made by Tokina for $10.50. With shipping, it comes to $25. Of course it's not the vaunted 1st or 3rd edition, but I can't really complain about such a low price!

Anyway, those are my best deals so far. Great thread!

How about a Kodak Retina IIIC for $10.00. Yes, big C, meter works spot on with my Luna-Pro SBC.

I have more; way too many more. About 50 cameras are on display in the living room, but I am sure my wife knows there are more. She just never goes to the basement darkroom.

My latest bargain was an Asahi Pentax K1000 with a Quantaray QTB-7500A flash attached to it for $20. Both of them are in great condition. The flash is actually a Promaster FTD-5600 and it has a Pentax TTL module on it. It works with my Super Program and P30T in TTL mode, I can control the aperture in the cameras with the flash, pretty cool. My flea market buddy had to point the camera out to me, I had walked by that vendor before but she had just put the camera on the table.

The one that tickled me the most was an original Ricoh Singlex with Rikenon 55/1.4 (Tomioka, iirc) on it for £10. It just looked like a battered old camera - but it's built like a tank and takes Nikon lenses.

A Tamron 90 for £25
Tamron SP35-80 £5
Tair 11A £10
Tamron PK/A mount free on 35-70, which cost £10
Pentacon 135/2.8 Zebra £10
Tamron SP70-210 19AH £10 like new with case and hood.
And many others.
The one I enjoy having the most is the Novoflex kit, which was new old stock (with carry case) and cost a couple of hundred in total.

You must be the person that found one hanging on the front of a camera body. Laughing

The most notable lens I have found has been a Takumar 35mm f4 with original brown case for $56.

Many bargains over the years, most recent ones (within 2010) are:
a used but excellent Micro-Nikkor 3.5/55 Ai for EUR31;
a pristine Konica Zoom-Hexanon AR 3.5/80-200 for EUR10;
and an almost mint Konica Hexanon AR 2.8/100 for EUR10.
Last but not least, late 2009 I got a Konica lot for EUR60, this comprised 3 bodies (Autoreflex T, T3 & TC, all exc+ to exc++) plus 4 lenses (exc++ Hexanon AR 2/35, 1.8/40, 1.8/50 x2 & mint 3.5/200). Earlier in 2009 I had found an almost unused, boxed pair of Konica Hexanon AR zooms (4/65-135 & 3.5/35-70) for EUR15.
