Hi guys,

thanks for your comments. Yes - this year the first freeze is at our area very early too. May be that we will get a cold winter and perhaps with some snow.

If you like here few other shots of this morning.

The mist over the water is really superb. Perfect composition.

Rolf, what trees are those in the foreground in the second to last picture?
Are they Alders perhaps? Or Willows?
I am really wild guessing based on the shape (they could also be 50 different species)
The colour of the leaves would make me think of willows... but the shape reminds me more of alders.

thanks!

Brrrr, that frosty grass on the other side of the river looks chilly.
I reckon we're in for a cold winter.

Wow, wonderful series. Is winter early this year?

Thank you for your friendly comments. Embarassed

@ Orio - Hi Orio, I´m not the tree expert. The images were shot at the river (Ruhr) nearby our house and I know from summer, that there are a lot of different trees. It is a mixed forest. But especially at the riverside it seems willows and sometimes poplars as well. You can see it better here.

Thanks again for viewing and your nice comments.

look more like poplars than willows..willows are normally droopy...(uneducated guess Very Happy )

You're putting together a wonderful series, indeed. I like the mood, it's kinda... I dunno... ethereal. I can almost feel the cold to cut on my nose, my cheeks, my hands but it's not at all an unpleasant feeling, it's almost, you know, soothing ...

Cheers, Marty.

Another beautiful image, Rolf. What a series!! All winners.
Yes, the front tree in last image is a Black Poplar.
