A local photographer tried 15mm and 21mm RF lens on both camera. He said that the red shift problem is more prominent on the A7R.

Crap! In the German Sony forum they said it should be the opposite. I have preordered the A7r especially as I'm planning to use it with RF lenses, so lets hope that it won't have issues like NEX-7

Costs 10€ extra though to download this app Laughing and of course you have to change profile manually in camera when swapping manual lenses if you don't buy such an ultra expensive Leica M adapter which offers a 6 bit code reading feature.

I m also concern about edge sharpness and rending.

No all wide lenses can fit in canon ff at infinity. Especially useful with tilt lcd when using a wide lens and close range.

One more thing:
The spec is usb2. As A7r has almost same file size as d800 (45-50Mbytes per raw photo) the transfer rate can take time.
usb3 has 50-70Mbytes/sec, but on usb2 it is far slower.

This has surely been the hottest gear news for a long time, as the discussions in all the internet forums show.
But whereas I jumped on the bandwagon when they marketed the NEX-7 (and was one of the first customers in Germany to have one), the A7 does not stir anything in me.
Strangely enough, I cannot feel any urge to buy it. Shocked

Hmmm... the more I look at it, the more I tend to like the design... interesting blend of clean, modern lines with just a bit of (carefully concealed) retro touch...

sharp edges will have paint loss, bump marks, but i like it with the grip.
it looks fragile, and might not be as durable.

I was excited the day it came out, but now calm down a bit, and still want one.
don't think it can replace canon nor nikon ff, but any lust for a leica m9 is completely gone...
even a pentax ff body...

I'm thinking that this camera makes the market more "complete" with better diversity. People will still love their m43, APS-C mirrorless and DSLR's. This camera is just filling a hole, which is good.

And I've been sittin in that hole for a while hoping for this to happen Wink

when nex7 came out, the flood came shortly later.
There are people re-selling their nex7 with 300usd profit.

One of my friend was so lucky to get the last one of 5 first that served as store display.
Another had to pay 200usd extra to buy from EU and ship to US...

I think Sony's warranty is valid for Europe.
Maybe you could buy one in Germany ?

But you pay for having it early.. even if you're not paying a premium just to be fashionable, looking at CPB Sony bodies seem to reliably drop 30% on the street price over the first 6 months. I can't see this model being any different. For me, that makes the difference between the A7 and the A7r. And lets me see the effect on the value of used 5Dii and 6D bodies (as alternatives) - as well as time to sell some gear I'm not using or wouldn't be using if I has the Sony (anyone want an RB67 Pro S set-up or 40D Wink).

That was possible because of the delivery delay caused by the flooding in Thailand.
Don't expect that to happen with the A7!

i can see why nex7 users wouldnt be excited by the A7-both have 24mp sensors with an AA filter, and most were disappointed by nex7+rf lenses. but the A7r has 36mp and no AA filter. that could make a big difference.

It surely will make a difference, but it's not the sensor of the NEX-7 that disappointed me, actually the NEX-7 did not disappoint me at all. Wink
I just like the Fuji X-E1 even better. Laughing

And I would neither be interested in a full frame Fuji X.
