135mm, in general, are not the most beautiful lenses, in my opinion. They could actually be considered amongst the ugliest, because many of them look too long compared to their diameter. I think aesthetically speaking, the 90mm lenses are more beautiful.
If I had to choose one 135 for it's looks I would probably pick the Elmarit-R 135, second version, as it's larger diameter makes it more well proportioned. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I voted for the Carl Zeiss Sonnar .
But i also have the Rokkor-X lens , 2.8/135mm and it's a very good looking lens ! Built in hood, green & white plus the orange lens specs, very good ! and the lens itself wow. great quality pictures.
the Sonnar is much more light, some 3cm smaller , and even with the barrel extended. both great lenses to be honest. |

That's the reason why I have voted for the Tamron 2.5/135.
But I also agree to shrek, the J-11 is a very pretty lens as well! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

I still feel that the first version 135/3.5 Takumar (pre-set) has a
beautiful amalgam of chrome and black "beauty rings".
As it comes down the runway, you'll notice the pelerine of the
chrome mount, highlighted by the classic Pentax styling for this lens.
The crowd can only gasp at the beauty, and the paparazzi goes
wild in the trenches as the camera and lens swirl at the end of the
runway and regress back to the main stage, confident in beauty
and modest in function.

I like this one, Topcon RE Auto Topcor 135mm:
I do not know how it performs since I do not have the adapter for it yet.
I hope it is not just a pretty face:-)
Cheers,
PS: I did not take this photo; it was from the prior owner of the lens:-) |
