Some shots with one of the best M42 50mm's out there. I've yet to discover a lens, no matter which brand, that focuses as buttery smooth as the Takumars do. You have to feel it to believe it Smile

I love the last one, it looks like he's showing his tongue in a joke like this: Razz

The first of the two sheep apparently belongs to the Jackson Five Laughing

Beautiful rendition by this superb lens!

I would like to have seen the first few with an increased depth of field, but perhaps you are simply showing the bokeh at wide open?

#2 is an excellent demonstration of Takumar's typical bokeh (and photographer's skills of course Wink )

Thanks everyone! But... I've just discovered that the results I posted here in the last few days are relatively soft. Upon closer inspection it appears that my original pictures (the landscape oriented ones) are 801 pixels wide; after uploading on Photobucket they're 800 pixels wide. Just one pixel, but the quality is definitely degraded.

The goat picture appears untouched (it's less than 800 pixels wide or high), that's why it looks sharper.

I'm sorry guys... Maybe I should improve my workflow. I didn't notice it because I usually work on a 10" Netbook (Asus EEE PC 1000h) with Remote Desktop to connect to my PC in the attic where Photoshop is installed... Embarassed

I have updated the pictures in the first post. The original ones looked too soft because Photobucket resized them after upload. So please scroll up to see the photos as I meant them: sharp and crispy Smile
