While browsing on evilbay, I stumbled upon this. Sylvain, you might be interested (however, the price might not be quite what you have in your pocket right now..)

Click here to see on Ebay

It does look tempting though! :)

I already saw it Razz But the price is twice as the normal price for the lot, I don't need the 90/2.8 (the 105 is longer, brighter, I don't need the central shutter), the 600/4 is not so interesting for me, as I have the 400/4, which has a star shaped aperture, only 2,6kg while the 600/4 weighs 6kg, can't be carried in my Tamrac backpack and should not be handheld for long times, whereas the 400/4 is always used handheld Smile I would be more interested in the 800/4, but I don't have the money yet Evil or Very Mad

Nice addition to your collection! I have the same lapel pin; do you possibly know who issued and why? It seems to be a French item as the back text shows.

It seems to be french made, yes, but I don't have any further info than the writings at the back Confused

You ever thought about making an illustrated book "My Takumars and some friends". Smile

PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2010 9:47 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I've never heard of - let alone seen - the following Takumars; the 300/2.8 & 200/2.5, as in the photo above. Could you post some close-ups please?

PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2010 9:53 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

The 300/2.8 is a Tamron adaptall lens and the 200/2.5 a Pentax (PK mount) model Wink

Thanks for clearing that up. With this being a Takumar thread, I thought there were two I didn't know about until now Embarassed

Yes, I enlarge a bit, to show the Takumar with other lenses (the Tamron 300/2.8 is far better than the Takumar 300/4, and I keep the Pentax 200/2.5 because its bokeh is very nice and it is a very fast lens). Maybe I'll have an other Takumar soon, I'm waiting for some infos Wink

Today I got a second Takumar 35/4 for.... 68€ shipped, with a working spotmatic as rear cap, and the front cap is a model I never had : "TAKUMAR" embossed, in metal shape, different from the ones of the Auto Takumar 85/1.8 and the 18/11 Very Happy I'm also waiting for a Takumar 300/4 (first version with a 3/3 formula), and the 100/3.5 for which I don't have any news since one week, from the customs Mad

I finally have a copy of the Tak 35/4 (late) on the way to me from Canada for $56 USD and the ride. I had a deal with someone in Georgia (U.S.A.) for $90 shipped but they backed out of the deal on me. I was beginning to think this lens was going to elude me. I think on of my Zebra 55 lenses has the embossed Takumar cap on it. I have had people ask me about the cap. Laughing and ignore the lens.

This is one of the 400 SMC Takumar 15/3.5 aspherical that would have been produced in 1975, designed with Zeiss. I saw it only 4 times on Ebay in ~2years and a half. I'm waiting a second one, and this is not a joke Razz

I think these are the nicest looking of the SMC Taks. I was under the impression that the 15mm/3.5 AL (aspherical) model was only made as a 'k' series lens whereas the "regular" one was made as both an SMC Tak and 'k.'

Edit: I just read on Dimitrov's site (based on Darrio) that there were 500 of the AL made, 400 as SMC Taks and 100 as 'k'. Also, there were about 500 copies of the regular SMC Tak 15mm made as well. That makes both versions almost as rare.
