...in the garden, this time with a Yashica Auto DS 50/1.9 my grandfather gave me. It's a old lens, but I was determined to put it to good use as a sort of family thing Smile

Wide open, it's a bit poor but has some crazy jagged and ellipsical bokeh Smile Most shots had contrast upped a bit and highlights reduced (typical single coated lens!). Stopped down to f2.8 it is very sharp.

#1 @ f1.9

#2 @ f2.8

#3 @ f1.9

#4 @ f1.9

#5 @ f2.8

#6 @ f2.8

#7 @ f1.9

Smile

nice shrek. love fall....i had heard this lens gives 'swirling bokeh' and you can see that in a couple of the shots.

Pretty Shrek. It's so difficult with all these gorgeous colours around us

great colors indeed and no bad lens at all!

Great colors indeed; I like the cat's eye effect of the optical vignetting of the lens. I'd love to see a more difficult subject to show the effects of the vignetting...

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments, I wasnm't expecting that! I drove 20 miles to take some autumn landscapes but the trees were either green or bare! It's amazing what's on your doorstep sometimes Wink

As I mentioned earlier, the lens is low on contrast and doesn't deal with the sun too well (I have no hood...), but lowering the highlights in pp has brought out the real character of this lens. I would describe the bokeh as almost Helios like.

Nice! Good colours, good sharpness, good bokeh and good photographer!

I haven't shot any autumn yet. I need to soon or it'll be too late.
