Thanks to Attila - I can start to think about Hassy again!!! Smile

just kidding Smile -

Attila had mentioned about taking my Hassy out ..

Well - I sold my Hasselblad 500 C with Planar 2.8/80 (propably the cheapest Hassy combo) and returned one faulty Sonnar 4/150 which is extremely good lens

Well, some slides were done last year and I made some 'scans' in this way..

1 - got a tracing light box
2 - tripod
3 - Digital camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II
4 - lens Contax Makro-Planar 2.8/100 and...

and I PHOTOGRAPHED them instead of scanning ...

The quality is propably not AS GOOD AS proper scan ones BUT --
some processing and 'photoshopping' have been done and results are promised to be VERY, VERY good...

So, Attila is NOW fully responsible for my decisions because I am going to be thinking (possibly) about Hassy again Smile

(or Koni Omega !!!) Smile

TF, Godspeed in getting the Hassy back or a Koni Omega, these are some
fabulous shots, and the colors are superb in these! Smile

Thanks for your comments. guys!

One good thing on medium format is that the diffraction is in less amount against 35mm cameras ...

One day: Hassy body again (plus Sonnar 4/150)
or Koni Omega..

@ Katastrofo -- Imagine, no SCANNIG..
It's going faster..! I have to play with LEVELS in Photoshop but it's running fast...

I am about to get an enlarging lens and carry out more experiments with photographing slides rather than scannig Smile

That's right, first shot may be the dream of the 5DII's designers........ Cool

Great shots...

Spooky though... my first UK holiday was there in very early 1950's... a tiny little island and so many of us have memories.. what other places have we in common I wonder?

Doug.

Here's the setup:

1 - light box
2 - 5D Mk II
3 - tripod
4 - Contax Makro-Planar 2.8/100 + Metal Hood 4

that's all..

@ magnet-2009 : Medium format IS STILL OVER the digital SLR Smile

The first image - digital SLR could have a problem a bit with the sun..

The first picture was taken with Sonnar 4/150 or Planar 2.8/80 + Hasselblad 500 C - I don't remember..
no filter, the sun just came into the frame --
NO reflections or FLARE,

the photo is ALMOST as was seen by me Smile

That looks cool. And using the 5D MKII is a much cheaper option than
buying a scanner. Laughing Pretty nifty results, though! Smile

Great work. Alum Bay is spectacular. What slide film were you using?

I well remember scraping the different colour sands into a bottle! IoW had more to offer than a pop festival.
