Seriously I would love to check these goodwill stores out, in all the similar stores we have over here there are rarely any cameras or lenses to be found!

Bought a Zenit 12SD for 12 dollars. The guy threw in a Zenit 11 and Mir-37.

Just got a Spotmatic F (body only) for 12 dollars too.
(It has that funky old neckstrap, really want on)

(12 is my lucky number).

Camera related. Sort of. When the Panasonic camcorders were popular,I really wanted one.Out of my price range at the time.
I was in a thrift store yesterday and they had a nice Ambico camcorder bag for $4.99. I figured I'd use it to hold some of my extra camera stuff.
Picked it up and it wasn't empty. Very Happy
So I bought a Panasonic AF X6 in beautiful condition with the charger, instructions, etc.
It works perfectly. Very Happy I'm using it on the AC adapter because the battery pack won't take a charge. Replacement battery is $30, but the chance of getting one of these with a good battery is slim anyway.
A very outdated toy, but I'm excited.

It's kinda fun buying the stuff you couldn't afford when it was new.

+ googlolplex^googolplex^googolplex^... Laughing

I remember drooling over a Honeywell Pentax sales booklet as a young electronics engineering aide in early 1970s. (I should scan that booklet because it lists prices) The ES with S-M-C 1.4/50 was US$650 Shocked a huge chunk of change back then. The engineers were discussing the S-M-C coatings, how they work, as engineers are want to do about new scientific developments, and the booklet was freely passed around. I soooo wanted to get into photography then, but cameras, film, development, and prints cost more than I could afford. Waaay back burner for that notion. I didn't get the chance until about 5 years ago... After a co-worker showed me his new Kodak digital (1m pixel?) I decided when digital cameras got close to film quality I'd go for it. Canon XT was my first real camera, with Sigma 1.4/30. Contemplating which lens to get next I decided on 200L because it was least-expensive L lens, so I went on ebaY and discovered in an auction that M42 film-era lenses could easily be adapted to Canon bodies. A little research and an M42 3.5/135 Takumar led to an extremely virulent LBA infection, and, well, here I am today. Cool

Well, the 55 and the 135 are fine for some uses, the worst of the 135 is that it´s unusable in hard light until f5.6 (CA and ghosting with white tones), and they are a bit soft but the bokeh is outstanding. I did sold the 35 without trying it.

the first M42 MF lens I got was a
S M C Tak 28 f3.5 for 28 $ canadian shipped to my house
then a SMC 55 f2 for 22 dollars ,
an unused sMC 35mm f3.5 for 20!
and then a 135 f3.5 for 38 shipped, I almost feel guilty about splurging on a 50mm f1.4 for 50 and a
helios 44m6 for 35

my only regret was I lost an auction on a mint 200 f4 for 41 dollars, I bid 40.50 Sad

My latest Goodwill deal:

Nikon FE, 50mm f/1.8 AI, and a cool old Toshiba "Softone" filter. $52. The camera is in very clean condition. Just needs batteries and a bit of dust detailing.

I purchased 30x Industar 61L/D 50mm f2.8 L39 lenses for $300 inc postage, from Ukraine to Australia!

He was most patient and included 2 bonus 58mm 44-2 M42 lenses as well!

Email at sales@sellbrok.com

Good but not perfect English. Very good quality lenses.

Now I just have to test em ......

And
350mm f2.8 OM for $700 from Rockycameras.com .....lousy externals but excellent optics!

Not a lens but I just got a "used once" 32gb Sandisk Extreme III CF card for £66 on ebay and to my surprise it is genuine and passes the H2testw work out.

I thought that was quite a good deal.

I also got a 2gb Lexar SD card for £2.40 brand new, not a big card but I'll just add it to the few I already have for my G1

Also a 4gb Kodak CF card brand new for £5 from the same seller

Pays to browse eBay at night sometimes!

Got some very nice deal a while ago: a Leica R3MOT body + Summicron 50/2 for only 80 Euro.

Another one was described by the advertiser as a "box containing old camera stuff", which I took with me for 30 Euro or so.

Well.. Besides some crappy compact camera's I found a zebra Flek 35/2.8, a zebra Orestegor 200/4, both quite dusty but easy to clean. Then I opened a case and found a Spotmatic F with a SMC Tak 1.8/55 and last, but certainly not least, a pristine S-M-C Macro tak 100/4 in its original lens case! Shocked

Oh well, that compensates for the moments I paid too much to satisfy my LBA in the heat of the moment...

Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 500mm f/8 55B with Nikon N/AI adapter for 38 EUR, found and bought on eBay.

Normal the adapter goes for more than 38 EURs!

My next hunt is for Tamron Adaptall-2 17mm f/3.5 51B. If anyone have that for sale let me know Wink

Oh men!, this one isn´t good, is astonishing, for what I have seen I can say that it´s the best adapted lens that I´ve tried on 4/3.

The reason is very simple, the performance at f1.8 is killer.

And my copy wooh, last version without a single scratch and all the letters pure white, all the kit looked like it was no used.

Very happy with the 85 f1.8, recommended buy.
