Over at Garage Journal, there's an expression commonly used towards those who score a mighty tool deal. "You suck."
Sucketh mightily, forsooth.

Love those mini tripods!

Wow, revox, what a haul! Wish I had friends like that! Oh, and that "180/2.8" you got for free isn't just any old 180/2.8. That's a 180/2.8 ED AIs! A superb optic! A brace of very nice Nikon SLRs is nothing to sneeze at either.

my biggest bargain will be the Minolta F2.8 [T4.5] 135mm STF. I paid only 499,90 Euro for it.. new in the box and from a shop (Foto Oehling.. now Besier Oehling) with full waranty. It was in 2006.. the time Konica-Minolta stopped make cameras and just before Sony announced their first DSLR. Very Happy

Thanks guys!

@coolcouch

Yeah the 180mm is really good - love it. Really heavy and a very long focus throw but the images it produces are brilliant. We actually got passed it along with the two FE2's, 135mm and 35mm from a friend who got it from a friend who'd died and she didn't want it all. An no, the SLRs are great too all in pretty much mint condition. Just need to get out and use them!

@mo

Yeah they're really cool. I want to know a bit more about the folding one...

@Farside

Yeah I suppose I do. Sniffle... If it's any conciliation, nearly 90% of the stuff wouldn't be with me if I didn't know my girlfriend as it's through her friends I got them! Or maybe I suck even more now?! It'll be looked after very well anyway

I once got a black Canon FTbn, Vivitar S1 35-85 zoom and a Lowepro toploader zoom bag for £40, does that count? Cool

This poor thing cost me 90 USD and got rushed to the operating table for some fungus removal (seller's photo):

After some cleaning...

Ah, those flohmarkts... I got an HFT Planar 50/1.8 for 20 EUR. It was attached to a broken Rollei camera, and the seller asked 60 EUR for the combo. He let go just the lens for 1/3 the price.

I found this Olympus Pen-F 1/2 frame mini SLR at a local thrift store for $20.
It looks brand new, still loaded, battery weak but working. I put a fresh battery in the meter and shot the rest of the old film.
No test results yet but everything works perfectly. I'm falling in love with this little gem, may have to start looking for more lenses!

A beauty, but is it still a bargain if you end up spending several hundreds on lenses? Sadly prices for these Pen lenses are inflated as they fit well with the mirrorless form factor and frame coverage.

They may have induced me to spend more money on Minolta gear but by themselves they were quite cheap:

39€ ($53, £32) for the 58/1.2
25€ ($34, £21) for the 35/1.8
30€ ($41, £25) for the 28/2
50€ ($69, £41) for the XD

regards
Jan

Is it the version with 4 lenses in 4 groups? That's the sharpest among the Minolta 135s (the later 5/5 version is slighly softer but still very good)
Anyway, that's a great price for any of the 135s.

Daniels list is great if you want to identify a Minolta lens:
http://minolta.eazypix.de/lenses/

6/5 version (All MC):
67 x 93 mm (set to infinity), 450-518g (different versions, the latest is the heaviest)

4/4 version (MC and MD):
64.5 x 89.5 mm (set to infinity), 535g

5/5 version (all MD):
64 x 82 mm (set to infinity), 365-385g

I also have tiger blood...

I felt a bit guilty when I bought those. It seems like the used prices on ebay haven't reached some of the old folk yet.
I can't wait to slab them on the Fuji X-E1 I just bought (the used prices for the X-E1 became too tempting)

Nippon Kogaku 105 mm f/2.5 by scepticswe, on Flickr
Nippon Kogaku Nikkor-P Auto 1:2.5 f=105mm (satin chrome front, f/22 minimum aperture) in near mint condition; 30 USD including original leather case.
200 mm f/4 Nikkor-Q, also 30 USD in similar condition including case.

I finally understand the fascination people have for the Nikkor 105\2.5, it's awesome.

Such nice finds by everybody! I used to be quite an active bargain-hunter, but haven't been as much on the look-out recently.

I am picking up a used (but according to the seller good-working) Leica M2 on thursday for 275€. A really good price, but I wouldn't say it qualifies as a bargain...
