Thanks for your comments guys!
You don't see much quantity of snow in the photos, but I was able to go out to take these photos only 10 days after the biggest snowfall. So in the meantime the size of snow was reduced.
I really enjoyed photographing the snow this time, I felt inspired, I had a lot of ideas about possible subjects.
I also feel lucky that I can use very good lenses that allow me to capture the snow texture effectively. Snow texture can be very hard to capture if the lens does not have a good micro-contrast,
because detail takes a very narrow space in the histogram. It is one of those few subjects where the lens can really make a difference.
I am very happy with the way #3 turned out. That was one of the most difficult photographs that I ever took, and it came out exactly as I wanted. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Really excellent Orio. I didn't have time to explore recent messages until now and I came across these lovely pictures.
Without the buildings it could be anywhere (even here!), but the Italianate architecture nailes it. Even so, No. 3 without any buildings is still the best one for me too. _________________ Peter - Moderator |
