I don't see how they will ever synthesise detail in a photo that is beyond the resolution power of the lens. Perhaps with a massive database of reference images you could paste detail from another photo on some shape that the processor has recognised as being a feather or a common type of butterfly, but then you are not photographing what is actually there, you are creating a design representing the object.
