Pity it's such an ugly thing - I expect our tastes will have changed by then. Smile

I've just noticed this, and I know it's a bit old, but all of the technology on show there is mind blowing!

The first people to buy this will be the security forces of repressive regimes. Imagine being able to get the mugshot of every dissident in a demonstration at a single click. And with modern passport technology, you will probably be able to automatically generate their names and addresses so you can pay them a visit. Marvellous!

I don't see how they will ever synthesise detail in a photo that is beyond the resolution power of the lens. Perhaps with a massive database of reference images you could paste detail from another photo on some shape that the processor has recognised as being a feather or a common type of butterfly, but then you are not photographing what is actually there, you are creating a design representing the object. The system would fail every time you try to over-magnify something unique, just as "digital zoom" fails today.

You ever watched tv-series "NCIS Los Angeles"? Looks exactly that.

Agree. It's creepy.
