Now that I have a screwmount Leica I thought it was fun to try the 9cm Elmar as-is on my Pentax K-7 (with the help of a M39 to PK adapter). As many of you know this limits the lens to (semi-) macro distances, but what the heck.

Wow Peter, and then with this lens. Unbelievable. Seems that the K-7 handled them all. Shocked

Excellent colour rendition !!

That's a great quality of lenses such as these!!

I have tried Industar 2.8/52 (?) as a macro lens via M39 > M42 - EOS adapter and pictures were amazing.

Great pictures, Spotmatic..

This lens is one of the most underrated Leica lens, don't know how good or bad. Peter can make Gold from any lens.... I love fly picture most..

The Elmar 4/90 was produced by Leitz for almost 40 years.

A lens that is not good is not produced for so long Wink

As Attila says, Peter can make any lens look good, but clearly this lens is top quality.

Peter, I am in awe with what you can do with this lens. I can't wait to get this lens too. My favorites are #1 & #2.
