Absolutely beautiful shots! I like the first one, guessing that is western red
cedar, the coast shot of water and trees, and the B&W stand of subalpine fir, or perhaps Engelmann. Some very nice work, Larry! Smile

I love the first one. I think it has structure, and I know that's hard to do in very green forests - it's so easy that those pictures end up as a green mess. But here you managed to make it work great Smile

Numerb one is fascinating! It takes me to the Jurassic forests - at least this is how I feel they could have looked like!
Compositionally the crown for me goes to number 4, the top-down view is perfectly arranged.
And of course the last one is a precious snapshot - the title "two of a kind fits perfectly to this image as well! Smile

It's a hard time choosing the best one, they are all top quality- #5, #4 #1 they're all marvellous but also those trees in the cloud (it's not usually fog in high mountain) really moves me.

Very very nice and it seems you're improving your scanning skills hour by hour!

Oh this is really rich and fattening Very Happy
Thanks Larry for taking us along.
I can imagine being there on the trail.
The smell of the mountain air and buzz of mosquitoes is really close.
Excellent!

Laurence,
Very nice series! I like them all, but especially the composition of elements in #4. Where is this by the way?

Spectacular series!
#1 is redwood i presume.
The foreground flowers in the last image looks fun, or is it the PS clone tool Smile

I wish my miscellaneous shots turned out half as nice.

I like the fog. Those types of shots always hint at something mysterious and just out of reach.

Thanks! I like the 4th image because the film rendered the color of the lake exactly as it was.

You're right Bill, on the Western Red Cedars. The stand is also correct - Subalpine Fir (Abies lasiocarpa). I love the spire shape of these firs, and of course they shed the huge amount of snow very nicely.

Mattias, it IS difficult to make any sense of composition in the deep forest. I am glad you realize the difficulty. Smile

Thank you Orio. I ALWAYS feel as if I'm in Jurassic forest on the Olympic peninsula.

The "top down" image was a sort of quick shot. I was pretty sweaty and out of breath, so the tripod was pretty much essential here. The water is so pure that the aquamarine hues are reflected back more than other colors, which are absorbed by minute suspended bits of rock.

Alessandro, the trees in the clouds were sort of mesmerizing to me. The whole scene changed in a matter of minutes, going from sunny to "foggy", and as usual, I had to put on some clothing layers right away!

Regarding my scanning "skills", I am not consistent. I will keep scanning until I learn to recognize how to scan any particular photo.
