Klaus, have you gotten anyone to translate the Japanese on your Takumar's box? I can read a little bit of it 37th year, 10th month. That's probably when it was made, and the 37th year will be the 37th year of the reign of the emperor, Hirohito. There's a bit of kana there too, but I'm rusty on my kana. I can translate it, but I'd have to pull out my Tuttle dictionary and it would take hours  . Maybe Koji might not mind?
