Very nice Tair 11a is a great lens how do you like it compared to the Jupiter 37A?

I like #2 (horse head) and #5 (first portrait of the girl), in #5 I would crop to remove part of the black bottom.

I think that my Tair 11 is a better than Jupiter 37 - better resolution, bokeh focusing ring, diameter, ergonomy.

Please move this topic to the Equipment Review sub forum. Thanks in advance.

This is not a review. Sorry.
Write a review and I will move the thread to the Review forum.

I am in total agreement with Orio... The horse portrait in number 2 is really nice. And that first shot of the little one is wonderful. I also would crop off the first red blob at the bottom left. What a great shot of her beautiful face.

Love my Tair and I am so happy to have found this forum. I may have never even seen the Tair if not for you all. Now it and the Helios 44M are my most used lenses.

And to think I did not like the 135mm length...

Orio then move these:
http://forum.mflenses.com/helios-mc-44m-6-2-58mm-vr-tessar-carl-zeiss-jena-2-8-50mm-t17962.html
http://forum.mflenses.com/mc-helios-44m-6-2-58mm-samples-t17463.html
http://forum.mflenses.com/tair-3s-4-5-300-samples-t17466.html
http://forum.mflenses.com/sony-dslr-a200-pinhole-0-3-mm-samples-t17464.html
to other "Not Review" category. I have no interest to be in the Review forum but because my previous four "Samples" were posted there i thought that this one should be consistent with the other and i still think so. So please put them together wherever You want.
There should be such tree:
Hardware
Equipment Reviews
Post here all equipment reviews
Equipment Gallery
Please put here pictures of your gear, cameras, lenses etc.
Equipment Gallery2
Please put here pictures taken using your gear, cameras, lenses etc.

Anyway i think that the idea of "Equipment Gallery2" i some kind of foretaste of "Equipment Reviews" and the "Equipment Gallery2" should become created because of the restrictions: http://forum.mflenses.com/faq-of-equipment-reviews-forum-t12437.html
Now we have place to post the photo reviews, photos of the gear but where should i put the photos made using "the gear"? Anywhere? Only here in the "Manual Lenses"?

How about this one?

The fact that I (and the moderators, who should monitor the forums for coherency) have missed some threads does not authorize to ignore the description and post everything in everywhere. There are clear descriptions under the sections that guide in posting correctly. Everyone is expected to do their part to keep the forum consistent and well readable. I and the moderators are working people like everyone else and must use your cooperation in keeping the forum organized.
The matter is very clear: wherever there is a review, it goes to the review section; wherever there are only sample photos, they go to the manual lenses section.

Yes. What is wrong with the Manual Lenses forum that you don't want to post in it?
I have to again invite you to attentively read the descriptions of the sections.
The Manual Lenses section says clearly: "Post here lens sample photos"
We have the Manual Lenses section to host discussion about the lenses and the sample images taken with those lenses.
We have the Galleries to post the final artworks - photos that the members think are their final artworks for photographic value and not just to show the abilities of a lens.
And then we have the Equipment Gallery to show pictures of the tools. Initially these were part of the Manual Lenses forum also, but later someone thought they should have a section of their own.
And finally, when you have a written review of a lens or camera, there is the Review section.

I hope things are clear now.

just wanted to say, that was the crop I was seeing...

Do you think it improves the look?

I would have made it even tighter, considering that the head is cut on three sides.

Nice shots,
does your Sony really support flash sync with those kind of shutter speeds??

PostPosted: Mon Jun 29, 2009 6:02 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Yes, it was WL, HSS mode and there's no problem with "flashing" as such short shutter.
I think that the cropped version is better. Anyway i don't think that black is bad - the empty black should make the watcher to wonder what's hidden in the blacks. Smile
