It looks to be in very good condition, what is the glass like? I simply love my XE-1,it's such a lovely camera, simple to use....a bit heavy with the grip, but with the longer lenses it balances out nicely. The rose images are my favorite. _________________ Moira, Moderator

Hello Moïra and thanks too.
The glass is clear. Some dust points inside but no incidence on pictures so I think I'll let it like that.
Rings are very smooth.
This lens is a pleasure to look at and to use.
I'm pleased with the Fuji X-E1 combo, as well as with the 5D MkII. _________________ Olivier - Moderator

I picked up the black (Zebra?) version Auto D Quinar recently but haven't had time to play with it - I was shocked at how small it is (not much bigger than average 50mm ). Surprisingly it has 5 blade aperture.
How different is it from this one? _________________ Lenses for Sale: http://www.ebay.com/sch/starxlights/m.html?item=281825389989 |

Hello Starlights.
Is your Auto D Quinar 2.8/135mm like this one ? (M42 mount, 5 elements, 3 groups, 7 blades, 90mm long, 54mm filter thread, 1,70m min focusing distance).
http://aflenses.net/id/32271/steinheil_munchen_auto-d-tele-quinar_135mm_f28-32_m42_06
It is very different from this silver Quinar 2.8/135mm M42 mount :
M42 mount, 5 elements, 3 groups, 54mm filter thread as yours, but 10 blades, 682grs, 130mm long, 1,00m min focusing distance, preset aperture ring, tripod mount.
Else, here are some other sample pictures.
On Olympus Pen E-P2 (so, equivalent to 270mm) :

Thank you for responding.
Yes, the lens i have looks exactly like the one you posted the link for, except i don't have the hood, and it has only 5 aperture blades. I couldn't find much information on it. Its a tiny lens. I was surprised how small it is when i first held it.
Its been raining here for the past few days and i didn't get a chance to properly try it, however from a few quick indoor test shots it looks promising. I was surprised about the 5 blade diaphragm. _________________ Lenses for Sale: http://www.ebay.com/sch/starxlights/m.html?item=281825389989 |

It seems that 5 blades diaph is quite uncommon for this lens.
I cab't find any information on this.
You should open a new topic on this lens with photos of it and sample shots, and ask for more informations.
Maybe forum friends have explanations. _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Very fine sample shots which show well the Steinheil quality.
Maybe we'll have answers about the 5 blades. _________________ Olivier - Moderator
